That is beautiful. I have a 1993 CR125 that I am toying with the idea of doing something like this to. If you don't mind me asking, roughly how much did this cost you? Don't know the condition of your bike when you started but mine is... not so good.    The engine is good but otherwise it looks rough and I think the suspension needs work.

Didn't know Maico did 380's. I have always thought that is a good size as a go-between of the 250's and 500's. I saw a KTM 380SX on omaha's craigslist a few weeks ago.

Overall, I would say that I am excited about this. I think electric bikes would do alot to open up alot of riding areas, as JETZcorp mentioned. But they will never replace internal combustion. Not completely, anyways. They may well steal a portion of the market, though.

I am SO pumped. Very exciting to see a major manufacturer out testing a preproduction 2stroke. Good things are definitely coming for the future of 2strokes.

I want to rush out and buy a pumpkin now!

That is awesome! I have wondered if their has ever been a 2stroke car in modern times. Those things sound down right nasty, in a good way. Does anyone have any performance specs?

I know! I was actually looking for something from late 70's thru the early 80's but this thing just fell into my lap (figure of speech, not literally). The guy who owned it was looking for a TTR125 which is what I had bought for my wife several years ago. He said he would swap straight up for it, and after blubooking them to see if they were pretty close to even we swapped. I am happy with it, and I am looking forward to prettying it up a bit and running it for years to come, unless someone wants to swap an 81 Maico 490 for it!

Hello. I just wanted to introduce myself to the masses. I really enjoy the site and pop in on it frequently. I recently started perusing the forum and thought I would join in all the fun. I have been riding since I was 9 (27 now) and love MX/SX but I do not race. I have a 1993 CR125R (YAY!) and a 2005 RMZ250 (BOO!). I am getting the pig ready to sell, soon. I bought into the hype about 4bangers being the greatest thing ever and I was just not impressed.

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi everyone, I'm a new guy (just registered today.) I am bringing this old topic back up to the front because I found this article on a website called Dirt-bike-tips-and-pics.com and its an interesting journal style article on 2stroke technology.
