Oh yeah, you should hear them all climbing horsepower hill together!

He seemed pretty confident, stay tuned!

Crank is back from the machinist fresh rod and bearing.

I can't find either of the side covers for it, which is a bummer. Turns out the newer (up to 91) will work but I need to find an earlier style power valve governor.

I am kind of surprised I managed to hang on to as much of the engine as I have. I have moved several times over the years...

General Two Stroke Talk / 125 Race at the 2018 Nationals.
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:12:45 PM »
Promoter Joey Lancaster was on the Pulp MX show on Monday and closed with: "If you live anywhere near a national track you might as well get a 125 ready to go." implying, of course, that there will be a 125 Dream race at every national next year.

I'm going to bet it went something like this:

Cylinder hot -- Check!, sleeve cold -- Check!  Now I'll just drop this in here and align it.... Crap, its stuck!  Now what? Uh.... Maybe they won't notice!

LOL

I don't have any insight for you on your 105 but I would like to say: Welcome back!

Interesting, I always assumed the DI system to be more like a diesel system where the injection cycle happens very late in the power stroke hence the need for a burly injector to overcome the compression.

Vintage Two Strokes / 1986 CR250 Build

A very (very) long time ago I was given an 86 CR250 that needed a crank.

It's under a tarp in the back yard but I just found a nice looking crank for it on eBay so, just maybe this may live again sometime soon.

I'll post it up as I go.

Thought on the frame.

On my 81 YZ restore I considered having it powder coated but after much back and forth and some input from guys in the vintage community I decided to have it blasted and painted instead.

The reasoning was that if you intend to ride it whatever you use is going to get worn off above the pegs and you can touch up the paint and it will look good, but you are kind of stuck with powder coating.

You can use the "Add Attachment" function of the forum. Back in the day storage on your hosting account was limited and expensive. That is no longer the case so I removed the limits for attachments. Just keep hitting (more attachments) as needed.

I am stoked to see this and will be watching closely!

I'll send you a message with how to add pictures.

Thanks for including us in this next adventure in the design of the two stroke!

The one thing you can count on with a used bike is it is going to need suspension bushings/bearings.

I have taken a lot of them apart and they all need something and most need everything.

I always tear my new bikes down and lube all that with some good Bel-Ray waterproof grease, it really helps.

What did you find when you tore it down?
