General Two Stroke Talk / TSM 2005 KX 125 Budget Build
« on: November 15, 2012, 11:03:41 PM »
COOL project, there was always alot of kx125,s at the track when there was a 125 class. The kx riders where hard core, but now ya never see anyone riding a 1990-2005 kx  or rebuilding them. I wonder why that is, there,s a ton of   older cr125  rebuild bikes out there.

I got to operate equiptment you never heard of, be a mechanic, welder, boss, inventory and order a average of 200,000.00 of  supplies, etc a day. Fly 1st class or leer jet, limo ride from the airport. Work in 45 states and Cananda, most states had news crews on our jobs, engineering schools brought buses of students out to see our rig. I broke the engagment off, then went wild. The women checking us in at the airport, where always oh your those horizontal drillers,  ;D  life was better than I ever imagined, had a job that I loved and never got borred with, had  up to 4,500 a week checks, crazy amount of women. Then the injuries start, blown out knee, shoulder, back. I broke my hands and feet different times and never missed a day, but these other injuries are serious. I was always pressured to quit, buy friends and family, I ended up quitting. Was in operators and laborers union, operators union never had work. So I,m jackhammering 7 days a week 12hr shifts, that sucked along with borring concrete work, escavating was ok  I ran the trackhoe or dozer when the dad,s boy didn,t showup. I knew how to survey, so I got some work there. I finnaly had my back repaired to 02. I was borred with construction,I drove truck a bit at the pipeline co., I wanted a challenge so I went trucking.Next adventure is the oilfields, my drillrig exp. will help me there. I learned the most driving truck, about people, how the country works, buisness, how to deal with difficult situtions. You never know where life will take you, if your willing to take risk.

Good point Ford. When ya chase a dream, you don,t get to the end very easily, unless your family has money. The dream will take you on a adventure. When I was 21 I moved to NH, got a job with Asplund tree trimmers, the tree outfit I worked for went bankrupt. This move was to raise money to attend mmi. I had 230 bucks,1 suitcase, 1 way bus ticket. In 10th grade I had numerous D1 schools, at my basketball games. I turned them all down, that,s like turning a factory honda ride down in 1986, not too smart. It,s too long of a story,to get into. But I was on the court with d1 players, the coaches wanted to see me compete against them. I had no competion, I was ready for the nba, but the nba didn,t sign 16 yr olds back then. So I,m in NH trimming trees, weekends I worked 4 a painter. Then my Dad gets hurt on his farm, I didn,t see him from when I was 10to 22 yrs old, to get to know him I moved in with him, ran his farm then worked at a factory at night. He healed up after a few months, I knew farming wasn,t for me. So I moved to NC for asplundh again, the city sucked. I moved back to GBay  had 3 different jobs, then I landed at a pipeline co.  was there almost 10 years, railplow with a 28 cylinder train that I maintained and operated a bit, engaged  had to make more cash. I worked on the world,s strongest horizontal drill rig, that we built.

I don,t think there is a powervalve on the polaris cylinder. I think the price of the kit will be lower than 2,500 for sure. A 05-07 cr250 doesn,t need a revalve. There,s very low cr250,s out there, that don,t need anything, like wheel bearings, etc.  No doubt the cr trans. can handle 75 hp, we are talking about a honda. There transmissions are tough as hell, my mod cr125 has almost 10 ft lbs more of torque and it shifts perfect. You can upshift under power, real quick with or without the clutch. Or scream it on the over rev and tap dance the shifter. I was worried about twisting the trans shaft or some major prob. but the trans are buillet proof, way over built for the stock hp.

You could move to Plymouth, Wisconsin  and  work at Millenium Technologies  with Eric Gore on the CR450 2-st.  I,m sure Eric  will need some help testing this winter, on the frozen lakes in Wisconsin.  You could set a  ice shanty up, that,s a portable shack for on the ice. And drill some holes in the ice and catch some fish, while Tyler is burning laps testing the cr450. ;D  I,m sure Eric will get cold out on the lake, just like anyone. And would apprieciate a helping hand, carb adjustments, carb swaps, different cylinders, heads, pipes, silencers, gearing, etc. Plymouth Wi. is near Lake Michigan, just north of Milwaukee, Road America road race track is in Plymouth. Lake effect snow nearly everyday, Green Bay is just 60 some miles north. Oshkosh is about 45 mi. where you could get a job building Oshkosh trucks one of the oldest truck builders in the world.

This is very exciting and AWESOME news. With all these American companys  working together, to build an engine. Last week I saw that Eric was moving into Millennium Technologies shop, last week on Forward Motion website, great news Millennium is the best plater in the world and  just 1.5 hrs from me. ;D  It,s cool that Eric got to work with UW that,s a division 1 school, nicknamed The Badgers, in the Big 10, for those that don,t know.  I,ve seen Tyler race a couple times, he,s gonna have alot of fun testing the CR450. If I have a good winter, it would be cool to test some engines for Eric  next summer.  They say the best open class riders are 125 specialist. ;D

Get a 1977 Trans am  make a black Bandit out of it, or go cheaper get a firebird and make a 77 TA out of it.  Elcamio,s  are also very cool, along with older Lemans.

General Two Stroke Talk / Got a 21st century bike
« on: November 04, 2012, 12:58:11 AM »
Nice ride, don,t give up on your 01 it might show up yet. I had a bike stolen years ago, 8 months later I got it back. The cops kept an eye on the thieves, was called operation KAT. They stole anything you can think of boats, trucks, sleds, trailers, etc.   Must be kind of hard to talk on the cell phone and watch youtube, like other folks going to work. haha

I,ll settle for 25 bucks for every 4-st, I beat on my 125. ;D  A record co. would be a good sponsor, google record companies in Chicago, there,s a crap load. Alot of alternative labels, promote there record co. and get paid. For only 199.99  I,ll show the easy steps on how to get sponsored  and get paid  3 grand a week *, more on the easy big bucks later. ;D

SRS racing has the trickest cr125 stuff. A higher 1st gear, there pistons are the best racing piston available. There focus is on 4-st now. They once had heads with fins, there own pipe and silencer, ignition made by jd, reeds, plug wire, carbon fiber and factory mag. ignition, clutch covers, porting, etc. I ordered  a bunch of stuff in 05, then the USA importer went out of buisness :'(.  On the Italian site they only show 125 pistons, I,m sure they have the 1st gear yet. Jm racing in Texas helped SRS with there motor program, for racing the 125 gp,s. Jm racing built  Ryan Dungee,s Rm125, Josh Grant,s cr125, Team Grean 125,s  Tara Giegers 04 cr125 54mm bore with stroker crank that pulled holeshots all year, and my 04. The trick parts went away when the pro,s switched to 4-sts.

X that cynario is really different. For the riders that bought or built 144,s. My bike has a 2mm ovr bore, to make it a true 125 it,s close to a 1,000 bucks.  I wouldn,t worry about it, but it sounds like a big bore 125. I,ve been protested on a bike with just a pipe, silencer, and ignition, no porting. Just because I got the holeshot. I turn 46 on 11-18, a rider shouldn,t worry about a beatup driver anyway. If the track says 125,s only in the 125 classes, I,m ok with that. But there,s quite a few 2mm to 4mm 125,s out there  prob 60 %. The track has 60 % less 125,s on the gate then. It doesn,t say anything about no 144,s in the flyer, it would suck to get 3rd on the start and finish 13th which I,d be happy with. Then get protested and not be allowed to race the 2nd moto.

the 125A and 250A classes ran 20+2 laps each moto, then the other races ran 3-6 laps depending on the class, 2 motos
Ok thanks.  Can a 144 race in a 125 class ?  That,s how the dream race was.  I don,t think a 144 would have an advantage over a 125. Looks like a racers track, alot of turns, cool rythym sections. Not a horsepower track like glen helen, huge hills- who ever has the most hp wins.  I think that,s a good idea to have a fri-sunday event. Riders might sign up for more classes then.

General Two Stroke Talk / Diamond RG3 Suspension
« on: November 01, 2012, 08:04:24 PM »
I,ve used RG3 ,s top tripple clamp since 01, the t. clamp is awesome. My local track is only worked up for races, practicing it has 12-18in. deep square holes,  you don,t get a shock in your hands and forearms with the RG3 clamp. Much less vibration, less arm pump, etc, You  can ride longer with less fatique, sign up for an extra class. I ordered my clamps with a higher and more foreward  bar clamp, that,s reversable, good stuff ;D.

General Two Stroke Talk / 2011 Husqvarna CR 150
« on: November 01, 2012, 07:48:36 PM »
Good write up, I think it,s a good bike. I,m really happy with my bikes, if I didn,t have a bike I would closely look at the Husky. I almost bought one in 01, got a rm125 instead a really popular bike that year. I don,t like hard seats either, to soften a seat up I beat the seat with a baseball bat. If that don,t work guts or sdg prob make a softer seat for it.
