I would just spend some time getting used to the twist throttle. Riding a bike is quite different than riding a quad, and it may be difficult to keep proper grip and control of the front brake when using a thumb throttle. It has been done before, but I am not quite certain of the specifics. A google search will probably turn something up for you. I'd guess all you really need is a set of ATV grips, and a thumb throttle to adapt. Might have to get creative on the cable stop, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to figure something out.

When I had my motorsport business I converted many ATVs to a motorcycle style twist throttle but I can never recall going the other way.I own an ATV,a snowmobile and a few motorcycles and I think,as Juliend has suggested, if you take a little time to learn the motorcycle twist throttle very soon you will feel comfortable with both styles. ;D

Having ridden a lot of thumb-throttle quads (which we converted to twist throttles), it would be pretty dangerous IMO.  Thumb throttles force you to hold your right thumb horizontal to the bar instead of being firmly gripped around the bar.  Your right hand makes a "U" instead of an "O" around the grip.  If you case a double your grip on the throttle grip is basically halved.

Also, if the jolt to the front end causes the bars to jerk to the right your thumb can stay stationary and give you an unexpected jolt of throttle.  Not a big deal on a quad, disastrous when riding a bike at the edge of traction.

It's easy to do but you may have to frig with throttle cable length a bit.I've long been told thumb throttle became the norm on quads to make them more "idiot proof" I.E. you can't shift your body backwards and roll the throttle wfo from trying to hold on to the bars like you can with a twist grip.Oh yeah, yes,I have done it-while supermanning behind the bike :-[  :D
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Cole Caulkins and I both broke our selves in the 2000 GNCC's. He broke a wrist and I my thumb. I suffered it out but he put the thumb throttle from a quad and although he didn't like it, I swear he was faster with it.

That is one of the sounds that haunt me in my dreams; Cole pinned as we took the outside of the start and he held that little green machine WFO all the way through the first corner. Only slightly slipping the clutch at the apex. I thought it was going to explode any minute but I held open also not to be left behind. We wnetered the woods side by side but he never let off! He was out of sight in just a few seconds. When I started passing the AA guys, I knew in was in over my head and paced for the long 3 hours. Cole was top 5 overall.

All that said, I am putting a Magura twist throttle on my quad.

Wowsers mxracer, that link took me to some sort of bodybuilding/gay sex website.I couldn't make sense of it.It would appear your version of what a "thumb throttle" is is completely different from mine. :o  :-X

point your mouse at the pic on photobucket you want and it should show a block with various links.Point your mouse to the address to the right of "direct link" and left click. It should show where the address was the word "copied" for a second.
Then do your post here and left click on image(second one from the left above the smilies that looks like a picture frame)
When you see the img][ img  put your mouse directly between the ][ in the middle and right click which will bring up a box.Left click on paste and that should be it.
