KTM 250XC Motocrosser
« on: January 18, 2011, 05:52:29 PM »
Anyone out there MXing their XC...I'm looking around at some 07-10 KTM 250s. I'd like to have an SX but I'm finding more XCs in good condition. I figure there will have to be some suspension changes but looking for some details on what others have done. Thanks for the help in advance, First week on the site, love it.

the xc will have a softer suspension and an 18 inch rear wheel. But buddies of mine ride their xc's on the track all the time with no problems

Depends if you are racing seriously or having fun.
Nothing wrong with the XC for fun.
As Ripper said, suspension is different and gear ratios.
Not much else.
If you don't fall off you are not going hard enough

A Dirt Rider test said the stock suspension on the 250XC will be fine for up to fast B-level riders, A's and pro's would definitely need some work - but they would most likely do the same for a true MX bike.  Don't see many YZF's or CRF's with stock suspension at that level.
