There's truth in that but a bike needs to be rideable-and it's hardly unique to Yamaha.
KTM's 250 were always somewhat sluggish compared to the japs and called"enduro engines" by most of the mags way back when.In '03 I think KTM had a "hold my beer and watch this" moment with their 250.A riding buddy bought one when they first landed.The thing was retarded.Big power that hit like a 125.It was virtually unrideable by the common man-and many pro types as well.
The following year they"dumbed it down" so people could actually ride it.Sometimes the engineers get carried away I think without realizing the buyer has to be able to make it work.
