I know you see them on TV in Endurocross but according to the Endurocross rules, they are not allowed. They are also not allowed in any Pro MX.

It's a shame.

Anyone remember that AWD bike from the 80's?  That hideous thing that looked like a beefed up minibike?  Open chain drive on front wheel - open drive shaft.  Lawn tractor looking engine.  It was on par with those 6x6 amphibious things.  I thought the name began with an R...

Anyway...  Just had a flashback to that bike.

The Christini is worlds above the old Rokon's  :D .

I am just not excited about AWD motorcycles, the best way I can describe my feelings is it seems like an answer to a question nobody asked.

I raced a Hare Scramble against a guy on one a couple years ago.  The course was a muddy, rocky, rooty, snotty mess - there were bikes abandoned stuck in the mud in quite a few spots.  He said the Christini was great in some spots, and a real handful in others, I just can't remember what he said the strong points were.....

Rokons date back to the early 60's and were intended for hunters, prospectors and other utilitarian applications.I wonder why the 450 is so much cheaper then the 250?

Yamaha was developing one as well and entered it in Dakar. I didn't follow it too much but it was interesting...
