Anybody use a gripper seat?

Amongst some of the things i plan to get for my new YZ i was thinkin of getting a gripper seat. My buddy had one on his KX250F and I really liked how "Grabby" It was. Anybody got any thoughts on these? Also, how are they installed?

I got a complete SDG Gripper seat, it installs like the OEM seat. They are great.

The gripper seat covers install on the OEM seat base and foam, wraps around and staples to the underside, easy job.

They do what they are supposed to, worth the $ in my opinion. :)

Gripper seats are the way to go,you gain a sense of more control.It will take a little time for your ass to get used to it.(monkey butt).Get an electric staple gun,remove the old seat cover.Put your new cover in the sun (it will make it easier to work with) Staple the rear first,then the front.Go to the middle and staple left then rigth.Now you are left with 4 quarters.Go to the center of each one pull tight and staple repeat each time,for every space that is left.

I always do a gripper seat and make a bump in the middle where my butt goes. It helps keep you front in the turns.

I use a smooth seat and "armor all" it as well.That's about as grippy as I like it.I had a gripper and turfed it.

I personally like how grippy my Honda seats are, and the Yamaha stock "sand paper" grip seats. I know on my RMZ450 the stock seat was slick as heck so I bought a Factory Effex grip seat cover and loved it.

I rode someone's bike who had a gripper seat.  Not sure if it was just that bike's foam or the seat or what, I had monkey butt after 2 seconds of riding.  Felt like I was sitting on granite.

I was going to get one for my '88 125 but since I found out Steahly doesn't make a flywheel weight anymore and I am having trouble finding fork springs I am just going to sell it after this season and try to find something newer for an everyday rider and not put any more money into this one.

My seats have always been pretty slick honestly. I have never looked into a grip seat cover...

Cant stand gripper seats! My Honda one has enough grip to pull my pants down when im powering out of corners and stuff. The world doesnt need to see my arse crack. :D
A very personal decision i think, a bit like bar and lever set ups.
They look sweeet but...

Sounds like you were riding my KTM-300 with its stock seat Opferman.... :-[
