Those crazy Ozzie's are trying to break the world speed record for dirt bikes on a Maico 700. :o
Looks like a fun project. ;D

Damn it, Kiwi, this is my build - been a member here for a while, was planning on putting it up tomorrow.
Oh well, cheers for the intro anyway.

I'm not a complete Aussie, coming from that little land mass below.

I'd say it's pretty cool.My Berg would do 160 kph stock but as most know,hp requirements increase exponentially relative to speed and drag.
I'll be interested to follow along with the details of the build and attempt. It will be quite a feat if they can manage it without resorting to drag reduction techniques or Rollie Free imitations. ;)
Oh yeah,almost forgot,Maico Breako. ;) ;D

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Didn't Dirt Bike magazine go almost that fast with a 495 KTM in the early 80's? I recall reading the test and I think the problem was not one of power but rather getting the tire to hook up at those speeds. Koestler 700?
