Looking at getting new t-clamps for my bike
« on: March 26, 2011, 09:55:04 AM »
Hey, I was looking at getting a set of new clamps for my bike and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these clamps/companies:
http://cgi.ebay.com/03-04-05-06-KX250-KX125-04-05-KX250F-TRIPLE-CLAMP-SET-/110512646260?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19bb112874

I read somewhere that universal or applied whatever they are called had issues with clamps breaking back in '07 or '08??? Any suggestions on where to look? I'd like to get my hands on a decent rubber mounted kit that I can stick my 1 1/8 bars onto, Thanks!

I wonder why one says 03-07 KX125&250
and the other says 03-05??
Either way, that's cheap as hell.
Personally I would go with the Pro Tapers, but I wouldn't be able to use my steering dampner with them.
The Universals that were recalled were part numbers 1025-40-0618 and 1025-40-0678 back in 2007.
You could always just get 1 1/8" bar mounts and use the stock rubber cones and caps.

If a pair of 2" brass balls isn't working, I doubt that the 3" model will make much difference.

Yeah,  but i dig the black clamps ;D plus im fairly tall so im mostly looking for the adjustability! Honestly I am swaying a bit more toward the pro tapers because I hear more about them and have seen the brand at my track here in missouri/illinois.

I believe they are also manufactured in the USA.
What year/model is your KX?
