Similar, hell!  It's like they took the old article, put in some new numbers and a couple of lines, and called it a day.  I didn't know this whole recycling movement thing had already moved into the realm of recycling ideas!

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?

Maybe they thought it was so good they wanted to share it again to reach more of the uninformed masses??  :D

I agree, but at least they are putting real world comparisons out there...  We need to give them credit for that.  I found it amusing that they had to dig down a little to find a rider who has raced with both 2 and 4 strokes.  Overall I liked the article even if it was recycled, it gave ( I think) real facts about both machines.  I agree with them that if an amateur who rarely rode a 2 stroke switches now they will struggle, (but they will have more fun doing it).  I like the idea of different strokes for different folks.  Pick your poison (strokes), lets line em up and have some fun.

I can understand the recycling... I've done it myself!

In this case when they originally published the article not many people were interested in the two-stroke. Now there seems to be almost a "revolution" when it comes to two-strokes. Many of the factory racers are talking about them and saying that they like them.. articles about old two-stroke surfacing, rumors of a Fall two-stroke series...

There is something happening here... you guys are at the forefront!  ;D ;D

Yeah this is only a repeat to pacify the two strokers. Don't be fooled by MXA, they are practically owned by the Big 4. They will compare this but they won't dare compare a 150SX (or TM) to a 250F.

Why wouldn't they compare the 150sx to 250F? I didn't think the 150 was legal in AMA Pro racing anyway, has to be a 125. From the stuff I seen lately, the 150 seems to get the nod as one of the funnest bikes of all time.

If memory serves correctly, there was a test in MXA between the 150SX and the 250F... just don't remember the issue.

When asked they didn't shy away from the question either.

Additional info.. read this test.

A few interesting quotes;

Quote

I have heard many complaints about MXA in the over 30 years I have been a reader. Some have a basis in truth and some are because the person talking about the mag, doesn't like it.

Personally, I think their bike tests have gotten "stale" with the Question/Answer thing. But their reviews of products and in-depth articles are fantastic.

Don't know where you got your information, but I know for a fact that Jody is a two-stroke fan.
