Yep, already posted here in the Loretta Lynn thread. Awesome ride. I've been trying to get in touch with him to do a short interview but no luck yet.

Wat many don't realize at first is that Dave was riding a 125 against 450's! That makes it even more impressive to get the finishes he had.

On Vurbmoto.com there's a helmet cam video of the Schoolboy class where they are all on 125s, and man, they are smokin! It pretty cool, its sounds like a bunch of killer bees.

That,s great news,4,5,7 moto finish for the title. A  125 is a great bike for L.L., look at the lap times for 125 school boy 1, there faster than 250 a, and faster than 450 a ,except for 2 riders, if you look at all 42 125 jrs. there have faster lap times than 450 a. Look at 40 plus 19th place is the same as 4th in 30 b, lap time, 45 plus 1st 2.08,10 th 2.22  would be 1st in 30 b. That,s amazes me that 45 year olds are putting down faster laps than 30 b, but then 45 plus are expert riders, some held pro cards back in the day. It still come down to the rider. If you click on the link on Luke Renzlord story, his title interview plays, click on 30 b David Jones title interview plays, its, on the right side of the screen.

That dude is so happy!! His excitement and enthusiasm is so contagious.... how cool would it be to see that kind of emotion on the podium at the Pro races?

I love his reasons for running the two-stroke.... a real stud in my book.
Life is short.

Yeah he seems like a cool guy. I got his phone number and have only tried to call once, but no luck yet getting to talk to him. I was hoping to get his email instead of phone number with my hearing difficulties. But no luck with that yet either, haha.

LOL probably so... :D . Truthfully, I have been deaf in my right ear since I was 10. Doc said it happened from shooting guns and riding loud dirtbikes without ear plugs, but how could he know. They operated, but back then (1981 or so) they didn't have the technology they have now. But the last 5-10 years the hearing in my left ear keeps getting worse. A went to a specialist who said he thinks he could get some hearing improvement in my left ear, but then my wife switched jobs and we don't have insurance right now.

Ok, I now return back to the awesomeness of this thread about Dave Jones  ;D  ;D

He,s a happy guy and  a smart racer. To learn  from the last 2or3 years of being there, to use caution in turn 3, to push but not to hard, where you don,t have anything left for moto 2 and 3. To keep it on the pipe and on 2 wheels, to the end. He  inspired alot of people, who forgot it,s the rider and not the bike. Even Doug Dubac is very happy to win, there,s alot of stuff  going on at L.L., much more than just 3 motos, heat, mud, slick dry, track full of pot holes, perfect conditions  where everyone pushes hard as they can, etc. He,s a smart vet racer and should get the cover of MXA or Racer X, then he,d inspire more races to get out there on what ever bike they have.
