Get the chassis titled, then install the engine. There are a million wormholes in the game.

I think 4 stroke dirtbikes are a phase, kind of like "Glam Rock" in a way. You see the whole world subscribing to it, and you wonder how everyone could be choking down so much Kool Aid and Spam... Then 10 Years later, nothing's left but the timeless stuff from before and after..

I think there may be one foolproof method:

Cut the steering head out of a streeet legal 500 (well, anything with a plate that has a pretty stout steering stem.

Adapt the triple clamps/stem to it.

Weld it onto the CR500 frame.  Add lic plate mount, some lights/horn/cigarette lighter and mirror to it.

Keep the street title to the bike.

Profit

(that or just go find one that already has a plate --- heck it worked for me)

Read Jody Weisel's article on the two stroke championships. There's not much coverage of the race but a long ramble by Weisel about two strokes and their place in history and today.

He says we are in a war. Two stroke owners won it once and now have to fight it again.

just reading other posts on MXA two strokes.

Interesting read about Husaberg been in its last year of production. What ashame to build up a great name and then bye bye at basically one of the best two stroke manufacturers. Husqvarna will go back to Sweden and good bye Husaberg. If I had spare cash one of those bikes crated in twenty years would be worth a fortune! Maybe? I suppose I would be in my seventies and so my son would appreciate that more than me, ah to be young again.

I am still unsure of FI or DI or whatever the initials for two strokes are holding. right now though carbies are fine and by the sounds of it heaps cheaper and easier to work out.If you have a second hand bike just rejet back to standard and then slowly work it out over a couple of hours and your good for the life of the bike well at least here in Oz thats basically how it is.  ;)

1. Go online and get a title and license plate from Maine.
2. After 1 year, register it in your state.
3. Pass any local inspection requirements.

Ta da!

My brother rides a YZ139 (my '98 race bike) on the street along with dozens of others (like a KX-F flat tracker with no kick starter...or front brakes!).

I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.
