When we first tell people that we are running our machine at 200:1 there is usually a small pause and then a dumb look... followed by a "You're running what?"

Yesterday we did a video to show the fuel/oil mixture of 200:1 on an inexpensive leaf blower... the results speak for themselves.

Microblue 200:1 Homelight Leaf Blower Demonstration

A few folks had seen the video I posted last night, but I forgot to use the finished video... no major changes, just wanted to label the gas in the beakers.

This is life changing technology....

Yesterday was a busy day at the Project Two 50 race shop!! Todd preparing the National bike for Red Bud along with Mike and Roger working on the "new" practice machine. Jackie and Derek worked on preparing the golf cart, trailer and offering help where ever needed.

I just tried to stay out of the way!!  ;D ;D

Mike and Roger working on the practice bike.

Mike rode the two bikes back to back for the first time... the difference in power is crazy. You can actually hear the difference! The practice bike "pings", the National machine "ROARS"....

More to come!

General Two Stroke Talk / WANTED: Web site contributors
« on: June 24, 2010, 09:16:05 AM »
As my time has been taken up with many projects, I have not had time to keep the main site up-to-date. I could use some help.

At this time this would not be a paying job. Just want to make that clear up front.

The site gets over 3,000 visits daily, many times over 4,000 per day from two-stroke fans all over the world.

What do I need help with?

- Story ideas or news about two-strokes
Some of you find things way before I do, this is the kind of stuff to be used for stories.

- Photos & Videos
Sometimes finding new stuff takes time, but if you come across something please send it to me.

- Writing
Do you have a knack for writing? Do you love two-strokes? How would you like to write some of the stories that go on the site? How about writing your own monthly (or weekly!!) column?

While I may not be able to pay you much now, there could be some great perks. :o :o

Anyone interested?

Hey Guys,

We are seriously in need of a low hour late model YZ250... located somewhere in the Northeast or someplace  within a 4 to 5 hour drive, if you'd be willing to meet us.

This machine will become either the Project Two 50 race bike or practice bike... we need another machine RIGHT NOW!!

Do you have one or know of one that's available? If so, I want to hear from you as soon as possible

General Two Stroke Talk / Project Two 50 Update - MicroBlue Racing
« on: June 10, 2010, 10:33:15 AM »
Hello Guys,

As you know we have been working very hard on getting the bike all ironed out and ready to race. There have been some very interesting developments, hence some delays.

One of our sponsors Craig at MicroBlue has helped us in more ways than I could ever convey...

His help and guidance have taken us down a path we would never have suspected.

Over my vacation I wrote the beginning of the article now published on the main TSM site.

http://twostrokemotocross.com/2010/06/microblue-racing-sponsors-project-two-50-results-in-low-emission-yz250-two-stroke/

May I ask you a favor? For those of you that think this is worth sharing, would you mind posting a link on other message boards you may be members of?

That would be greatly appreciated.

I know that I'm asking a great deal here, but if you do post it be respectful and don't knock anyone. All that stuff does is force folks to "defend" themselves and lose sight of what's truly important.

Thank you!
John

General Two Stroke Talk / Freestone National Motocross
« on: June 02, 2010, 12:40:53 PM »
Hey Guys,

For those of you in Texas that will be attending the National on Saturday, please be sure to look for me. I'll be wearing a White and Blue TM Racing Mechanics shirt. It should be the only one.

A few other hints, I'm 6' 4" tall, thin, wear glasses, have graying hair.... I will also have my nephew in tow. This will be his first Pro Race. He's from Texas so, the heat should be no problem for him!

Make sure you introduce yourself. Ask me nice and you may get some cool free swag!!

It's going to be a scorcher... the temps are supposed to be in the triple digits. Make sure you hydrate with something other than beer! LOL

See you there!

General Two Stroke Talk / New Video - Project Two 50
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:06:37 AM »
Hi Guys,

Here is the latest video. Make sure you watch and listen to the last shot very carefully!!

Project Two 50_Test Day 1

We did some dyno testing yesterday and the results exceeded our expectations!! Before releasing any numbers we want to do a test at another dyno, to attempt to confirm what we saw yesterday.

The MicroBlue coatings and bearings really make a HUGE difference in the performance of the engine! The figures are in the north 50 horsepower range!!

We also have some interesting emissions results that we need to sort out. Once we are done, we'll share them with you.

Just in case anyone thinks that we are spouting numbers in an effort to impress, just know that the former COO of Boyesen Engineering was in attendance. The dyno is located at his Grandson Mark's shop. Extra special thanks to Mark DeLorenzo of AHP Mini's. For his patience and time.

General Two Stroke Talk / Project Two 50 Schedule Change
« on: May 21, 2010, 05:56:56 AM »
Due to unforeseen circumstances Project Two 50 will be unable to compete at the first scheduled event in Texas on June 5th.

Due to our very late start, we just can not get the bike completed and in race shape for Texas. Our schedule included time for us to test in Texas a week before the race. Due to all the testing we have ahead of us this coming week, we require at least another week or more to be ready.

I know that this will be a disappointment to some. For this I apologize. I take full responsibility for us not being ready on time.

In a strange turn of events, I personally will still be attending the race at Freestone. If you have already made plans to attend this event, please PM me and we will make plans to meet up.

The event that our machine will makes it's debut is Mount Morris, PA on June 12th.

Again I am very sorry to have to make this change.

Our goal is to race the entire series in 2011.

Thank you for understanding.

General Two Stroke Talk / Kayaba A Kit suspension... mmmm yummy!
« on: May 17, 2010, 07:32:18 AM »
Yesterday the bike was assembled using the Kayaba Factory suspension....

Mike tested it briefly late in the day. There is a plushness and resistance to bottoming that is not evident in other suspension.

Some photos have been posted here;
http://projecttwo50.com/

This also marks the first test of the MicroBlue bearings and coatings in the engine. Initial feedback is that we are on the verge of something huge! Still working on jetting and getting the bike set up properly.

We may not be able to get the bike up to the high standards that we have set for ourselves in terms of having all the latest, greatest components, we do feel the the power, handling and suspension will be up to the task of competition at the Pro level.

Today we'll be testing different pipe/silencer combinations. Although we are very excited about the hand built cone pipe being developed by 2T Institute. He also is working on a cylinder/head combination that should be out-of-this-world!

In addition there are still a few interesting tricks and important information that has the potential to turn the two-stroke into the machine of choice for all riders/racers. This will be revealed soon.

This is getting very interesting.

Hi Guys,

It was great fun speaking with Matt Cuddy. He is a regular down to earth motorcycle guy, just like the rest of us!

Enjoy!
