Getting a new bike - Experiences about Husqvarna WR's

Hey everyone! Haven't been here in a while.

Here's the deal: I was looking for a two smoke enduro bike, and we found a pretty awesome deal on Husqvarna WR 250 and WR 300. Has anyone had any of those bikes? They feel pretty good IMO, and look great. We were looking for KTM's at first, but we would get the Husky for about 3000? cheaper than those orange machines, so yeah, I'd say that's a good deal!

From what I've heard, others say Husky's are great bikes. But then... I've heard about some extremely bizarre stuff, like constantly broken frames etc.

So if anyone has any experience about those bikes, either good or bad, I'd like to hear!

Haven't heard anything about broken frames.
Only thing negative I have heard is they had problems with the efi on the 4 strokes a couple of years back.
As far as the 2 strokes go the only quirk is the kick start is in a funny position and the general bar,seat, peg position is a little different.
A friend just got a 12' 250 and loves it but has only done about 20 hours so far.
For that amount of price difference you shouldn't go wrong.

I would go for it, I saw a 250 WR the other day and I loved the look of it

I don't know if I've heard anything about Husky frames breaking. A friend has been riding them since the 80's when he raced the Blackwater100. He loves them, even the new models. A WR300 is near the top of my list for next year. If I could one a lot cheaper than a KTM it would be a done deal haha.

A friend bought the WR300 and loves the bike. Myself, I prefer the "feel" of a Husky to a KTM.

I have heard of them breaking frames before, a friend of mine was telling me a year or so ago about how a lad who races local h&h on one who was sponsored by the same firm as my mate and that bike broke one frame and cracked a second (it will have been taking a serious battering from the type of riding it was doing but it still shouldnhave done that). That company then dealer then got him a KTM 300 in for him which he used the rest of the season and the dealer has now dropped Husky for KTM.

I'd say for steady away trail riding get the Husky, at that price you can't get better for that purpose, but for serious racing of any sort or even just the odd mx practice day I'd say choose another make. I know these problems are most likely very unlikely to happen to you but if it was me I wouldn't be able to concentrate on racing with that thought in the back of my mind.

my mate bought one 2 years ago and turned it into a supermoto.

he reckons its quicker than KTM 300's and GAS GAS 300's.

hes done lots of ks on it on the road and race track with no issues.

so theres no complaints in the engine performance/reliability
