i was considering buying a brand new RM before i got my bike, could have had it for $8000 or something like 11g for a ktm 250 two banger, honestly why would you pay that much more for a ktm???

I have an 02 RM 250, it's razor sharp, i'd say maybe to much pressure in the front tire, maybe your not leaning the bike in enough and trying to steer it too much.

yeh read that shootout. i have an 02 rm250 and foun my fmf gnarly fit up much better that the PC 304 silncer that i have, would have been good in the shootout if they mixed up the brands of pipe combos with different brand expansion chamber's to silencers.

Technical / PK 26 to PWK 28
« on: November 15, 2010, 10:48:50 PM »
hey i was gonna buy a new carb for my girlfriends 97 KX100, she has the old style PK 26 carby on it and i was planning on changing it to a PWK 28, would it be as simple as just changing the jets across to the new PWK carb, is the needle interchangable from old to new, and is it even worth it, her bike has bugger all bottom end power will this help or should i just put a flywheel weight on it??

02 RM 250, fmf gnarly, PC 304 silencer, ported head , jetted boyesen pro series reeds, the bike pulls hard from down low chugs up hills, has killer midrange and decent top end. need to buy a flywheel weight for it. it smashes the tire in top gear with a fresh rear tire, bike is a wheelspin machine(if you want it to be), reminds me of my rota  :D

try a set of boyesen pro series reeds, i threw a set in my rm and it was the best bang for buck mod i have made. i havn't tested back to back boyesen pro series reeds to v force in my bike but all my mates have v force and none perform as well as my bike. ktm 300's included

Basic question has anyone tried them, they look like a gimmick to me, although my mate claims he has one and it stops arm pump???  ::)
also noticed on there website it has pictures of athlete's but there not even wearing them, and the vid of proof that they work is rubbish.

« on: October 19, 2010, 02:12:18 PM »
boyesen dual stage reeds was the best bang for buck item i bought for my bike. although it had all the surrounding mods, ported, pipes etc. soon as i put them on i noticed a huge increase of power! now im in the market for a flywheel weight as it is a wheelspin machine!

I ahd a chinese bike for 2 year's, never had any major problems with it. it was heavy and not very fast. but very reliable, i sold it to my mates missus and it's still going strong, the difference is i got it fully optioned up, and tightened/ locktighted all loose or important bolts, ffs if a jap bike has loose bolts they are still gonna rattle out. china's products are getting better every day, in a couple of years time they are going to be super competitive but as john said at a cheaper price but not under 1000 bux

for 550, you could put it in the bin when your finished with it. you would prob lose more than 550 on a jap bike :)
