Actual value of a 2003 125?

I'm a bit out of the loop with 125's, but if you were to find a very low hour 2003 125 from any of the big 4 that is 100% bone stock and just been ridden occasionally around a farm, what would be a fair price for both seller and buyer?  I was thinking $1500, but wondering if that's a bit high? 

Picture a bike with almost no frame wear, no dents in the stock expansion chamber, original tires at 50%, just a nice surviving bike.

I think $1,500 is a bit high, but if your comfortable with the price...  that's all that matters....

$1,500 is a bit high, but from the description it may be what it sells for.

It would be hard for me to pay over $1,200, pics would help. :)

Check Craigslist up here in the Northeast, people are listing bikes like that for $2000-$2500 all the time!!  Crazy.....

Right - I am in the Northeast too, and I personally wouldn't hesitate to pay over 2K for it.  

I'd second that, and say it's worth 2,000-2,500 here pretty easy. That may even be a deal.

(We must appreciate 2-strokes more than the rest of the US).

A bike like that with very limited wear easily justifies $2,000 and can easily sell for more. Especially if the buyer has had to suffer through a 4 stroke for any length of time.

I think 4 stroke dirtbikes are a phase, kind of like "Glam Rock" in a way. You see the whole world subscribing to it, and you wonder how everyone could be choking down so much Kool Aid and Spam... Then 10 Years later, nothing's left but the timeless stuff from before and after..

Thanks for the replies.

A mint 2010 KTM 125 is no big deal.  Same for a mint 2007 YZ125.  You -could- source others for sale in fairly quick time.  But I think 2003 is getting old enough that the nice ones (i.e. original) are dropping like flies and suddenly people are able to justify a few hundred more.  Maybe I'm wrong, but that's my train of thought.

So while part of me can understand the $1200-$1300 range some of you are stating, part of me would also wonder why I was ever so cheap that I busted a deal on a sweet low hour bike because of a couple hundred bucks.

Selling season blows a$$ right now ppl were tryin to haggle me all day at 3500 hundred for my 150, one guy was trying to say it was only worth 3k I was sick of every1's bullshit so I just kept it and bought the 250 anyways. I thought I had the 150 sold but the check the guy gave me bounced luckily I'm smart enough I held onto the bike until it cleared which clearly it didnt so I have 2 of the best bikes ever.

I am in AL.  $1,500 sounds about right to me.  With the 2012's at dealers now, it is now a 9 year old bike, essentially.
