good read

"you can explode out of corners with an instantaneous snap that makes a four-stroke feel like a school bus"

man is it just me or are they really getting good at making the 4 strokes look like poo?

the only thing i dont like about that test is it came out 2 weeks after i got my '12. For 2 weeks i had the best 250 2 stroke ever built according to MXA, now its the 2nd best lol.

MXA are very vocal about their dislike of the way 4 strokes were forced upon the motocross public and the rules that made them competitive. They certainly do bag on them when they can. I like it

I am far from a KTM fanboi.... But my '13 250sx is the best mx bike I have ever ridden and I have had way too many... Why someone would voluntarily chose a 450 with these bikes as an option at every level besides AMA Pro is mind boggling...

i really would like to ride a 13 or 12 250sx, everything i hear about them is good

now dont get me wrong, the 450's are really good bikes, their downfall is their weight, but for somebody who wants to be lazy, a 2 stroke with some minor mods can make it pretty easy to ride, they really are do it all bikes

I agree with you about the 450s all the way... Just the basic tuning with jets and PV springs/preload can produce quite different power delivery.  Then the weight difference, etc. Superb machine...

I disagree with the 450 part but not because they are bad bikes, more because of the endless list of cons. They're great if you just want to puddle around the track with the young fulla teaching him the ropes and you don't want to be clutching all the time.

About the article. I've always loved reading MXAs two stroke articles. They don't sugarcoat the crap that the AMA has pulled on the smokers and they don't mind publishing how awesome these screamers are. I love it.

I love mine but I need to tune the power valve a bit it's a bit much for all 140 lbs of me  ;D. Almost handles as well as my 150!

Good read

That was classic, pretends to like the two stroke while backstabbing it at the same time brilliantly worded article by dirtbikemagazine.
