yamaha yl1 clutch
« on: February 04, 2013, 09:18:18 AM »
so i got my Yl1 running great. Replaced the shifter rod and and everything is back together. now my only problem is the clutch will not disengage and when i try to tighten the cable it just slips all through the power band, what it looks like is my lever isnt pushing the plunger far enough to fully disengage the clutch . Can anyone shed some light on how i am supposed to get my clutch working properly, its my last hurdle.

Do you have an adjustment screw on the clutch pressure plate to set initial clutch free play? I just did an old Yamaha and had to set up the clutch this way.You might want to check as well that the little ball bearing adjacent the clutch push rod isn't missing. ;D
