I have seen many, many times bands of testosterone laden shirtless fans of sport (fill in the blank) yelling "We're Number One" at the top of their lungs here in the good ol' USA.

Volume doesn't make it true guys.

Results are results.

Period.

That said, lay off of 2Smokes riding. I resemble those remarks!  ;-)

this race was specifically designed for the US to lose. and it accomplished that.

I being an american would've loved to see the US win again. Now, i'm not making excuses for our team, BUT seeing as how every one of our riders fell multiple times, i am very surprised we didn't do worse.

But i bet now you won't see cairoli or herlings come over to the US and race. THAT is a fact. They wouldn't want to run top 10 or mid pack, they'd want to be up front. Which, sadly wouldn't happen in america.
Pull your head out of your arse, it's attitudes like yours that make the rest of the world dislike america.

Bullshit.
Motocross is all about racing on ANY surface.
Do you think you are the only guys that dont race on sand.?
You and everyone else got beaten by a better team. Nothing more and nothing less.
It must be incredably hard getting the American ego through door ways. :-X

Yep.... It was a conspiracy!... Why can't people accept the fact that the U.S. had just plain lost and was not the better team that day? Bagget sucked for the second year in a row and Dungey simply didn't show up... If there is any blame to be assigned, blame it on lame azz StupidCross and the Influence it has on tracks outdoors... but, quite simply, the U.S. got beaten soundly and it was not there day... I was super stoked for the Germans....

Please expalin to ME how it was "set up" for the Americans to lose. IDK, maybe the euros were racing on a different surface or track. Everyone rode the same track. Also, to say that maybe it had tot do with the sand???? Uh, when was the last time you looked at Daytona's track or Washougal?

Just because we're the U.S. doesn't mean we're the greatest ever...(Except in military superiority).

Everyone raced the same track, same day. 1 winner, congrats to him.

Sapper, I agree with your premise and do not believe it was a conspiracy "to make America lose". Belgium is the HOME of motocross and they are famous for their sand tracks. We've been there before and we knew exactily what to expect.

However, you can not compare Washougal or even Daytona  to Belgium (although if Daytona was 4 times longer and a bit deeper...). Daytona ,although sandy, is a Supercross track. It is not as long or as fast or as rough or as deep as Belgium. Now if you head out into the woods 10 minutes from the track, you might find similar terrain - and that is why I suggested we send Floridians!

But, the Euros WERE racing on a different track than the Americans in the sense that they do 2 or more races in that terrain every year. Their tracks everywhere are very unlike the SX influenced outdoor tracks in America. Many train or live in Belgium or Holland just to practice in that difficult situation as it makes you a better overall rider.  The Italian, Anthony Carioli, lives about 30 minutes from that very track and is there regularly. Jeffrey Herlings and Jeremy van Horebeek grew up racing local and their national series in that terrain.

If you follow European MX, the race previous to the MXdN was the German round of the series and K-Roc entered in the 450 class and posted a 3-2 to Cairoli's 1-1. That shows he is fast enough in Europe but in America, although always Top five, rarely top 3. That doesn't be he sucks, it just shows the difference between what the Americans do and what the Euros do. He is young and will develope. Barring injury, I expect him to be the 450 Champion in America.

Very Lame track, I,ve seen beginner tracks that are more challenging, seriously. I love riding sand, but that track would put me to sleep. There was nothing on the track to separate or challenge anyone, yawn.

Seriously? Was that sarcasm? I loved it. In the beginning it was smooth but it changed every lap and got rougher and deeper. Then by the last moto it was motocross like I remember it with 2 meter deep woops and bottomless holes.

That was PAIN...the way motocross should be.

It looked pretty smooth in the vid, I could see it getting rough for the 2nd motos tho. I like fast old school tracks too, a swith back section would be good, to set up some passes.
