General Two Stroke Talk / Re: need help, lets hear it!!!

 8) OK westsiderippa, I am a little older than you but race in the same area you do so I can relate.  I ride the OTHG also, (Reno Chapter)  I am 65 years old and compete in the 52+ class.  I ride  a  2004 RM125.  No big bore kit, just tuning and pipe...I ran Hangtown OTHG National with 33 guys in my class (Mar 09) and finish 4th overall......against 90% 450f's.  I raced Fernley othg national with 19 guys in my class (May 09) and was 1st OVERALL winning 2 of the 4 motos.  My point is, don't sell yourself short because you are competing on a 2 stroke and think you must make up "something" somewhere.  I think of all the positives when I go the line about my tiddler and when the other guys look at me on the line I SMILE BIG.  When the moto is over, sooner or later they all make it by my pit area to check out the old man on the little 2 stroke.....................WHO NEEDS A TROPHY AFTER THAT???????????  I got my reward.....rider/racer acknowledgment for my competition.......   If we don't ride two strokes at the local races, club races, and every national event we are able to attend, then we are part of the problem, not the solution......I love riding my 2 strokes and wll never fall to the dark side.......................buy the YZ250, you will be the envy or your riding buddies and the guy they are talking about at the races..........Rooster

??? Sooo..... Hondacrrider, what you are saying is if you don't ride a 4t real hard, do alot of maintenance and don't race them they can last a long time.  I am not bagging on you guy, just thought it was funny when I read it.  Sometimes we can answer our own questions when we read what we really said........

Super Hunky has been there to see it all, from the introduction of american dirt biking...........seen all, tried all and evaluated it all.....................he has history and knows from where he speaks........listen to the old guys.  Been there, tried that, brought the t-shirt..........................Rooster

That is a great idea Chris. :D  From now on when anyone tells me they ride a 450f I will say, "oh, you ride in the hanicapped class".  Thanks for the heads up, I will definately start using the caught line..........

That video is of an 450 honda (2009), it is not RC.  The rider is Ryno and shows some related video's that you can see the name of the jersey.....................they are neat to watch but no ride...........Rooster

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: No 2010 Suzuki motorcycles in the U.S.?
« on: December 15, 2009, 12:44:50 PM »
I used your link to read the blog........investagated the links to find the primary source and the story states: No road bike models......most agreed that is was a "good" move by suzuki (due to the economy) and that it will not be a hinderance to the buying public to wait until inventory is brought down.  Price reductions on inventory bikes is a good deal......................now I am not remotely interested in "road bikes", so I am not affected.

The news did not include "off road models" and I am sure there is an inventory of suzuki dirt bikes in dealerships as well as every other brand sold in the US.  If the same happens to "dirt" models I guess my collection of 2 strokes RM's just went up in value....................buy all the 2 strokes you can find....it will pay off in the end.....!!!!!!!!!!

8)Just wanted to tell everyone how proud of my son I am....he just completed the fall series(8 races) of our local motocross championship and won his class overall............He rides the 30+ Vet class, (he is 35) and not only did he smoke his class throughout the series, but he did it on a RM125.  Those guys on there 8K 4 strokes where always hanging around our pits wondering what it was we where doing to make that little 125 go so fast......................I only told them what ever it was it didn't cost 8 grand.  More of the story to follow as this post picks up speed..................thanks for reading,       Rooster

General Two Stroke Talk / Re: Crf150r discontinued?
« on: November 24, 2009, 09:24:11 AM »
I can not confirm if they are producing 2010's or not but I can tell you that at our local track the disappearance of CRF150's is amazing.  A couple years ago there were about a dozen kids that rode them and last sunday there was only one in the 85 class.   Maintenance and cost has been there downfall, they had a lot of engine failure also..................I read on one of the two stroke sites that EURO motocross has changed to 85cc 2t only(no 4t allowed) in there local racing rules.................I agree with what as been written, kids need to be on 2t to learn good riding habits.................Rooster
