Pressure washing a bike?

I have heard its a bad Idea for numerous reasons. What do you guys think?

At one point Suzuki offered free pressure washers with RM motorcycles,and as I had a motorsports shop at that time, I made a small fortune off of this "boondoggle". A rubber lip seal is no match for a high pressure stream of water.

Pressure washing is fine if the pressure is dialed down, and do not spray areas as SachsGS correctly stated.  Try to stay clear of any rubber seals, wheel bearing, breathers, etc.  As a once over to remove the thick stuff, sure, but then a regular hose and elbow grease works the best.

Also don't forget the butt plug for the silencer. Get one that fits the hole tightly and keep it in when your not riding the reason is you don't want ambient air getting in through the exhuast that could lead to corrosion....Yes I know its a oily 2-stroke but better safe than soory.

I been doin it for years but really only on the wheels (avoiding wheel bearings), under the guards and bottom of the engine, all those places that the dirt really sticks to.
Like eprovenzano said also, elbow grease works best...

You dont need a powerwasher to clean your bike at all this is all you need and a good hose nozzle,spray it on and hose it off
