GasGas and TM Racing to Merger!

Salt, Spain - Gas Gas and TM Racing have announced plans to merger the two small companies under the single banner of Gas Gas.  TM Racing is a small manufacturer in Pesaro, Italy that has been manufacturing engines for motorcycles and karts for over three decades.  A spokes person for TM Racing was quoted, "TM Racing has been a company which has always pushed the envelope when it comes to power, performance and quality.  Gas Gas is a great company whose the quality and performance is a testament of their dedication to the sport.  I know consumers of both brands will be completely satisified as we ramp up our R and D over the next year."   Gas Gas has been manufacturing Trials motorcycles for over two decades from their main factory in Salt, Spain.  Both companies manufacture quality bikes in the Enduro, MX and off road segments which will make it interesting indeed to see how this will change their 2012 roadmap.  The larger portions of the merger on the business side is expected to be complete at the end of summer 2011.

I don't think this is actually good. If TM was "bought out" then no more TM works bikes hello expensive trail bikes.

Yeah  that sucks! probably last TM i buy too.
it was the small volume production and hand built feel of the TM that made it what it was.
I'm guessing you can kiss goodbye to a whole lot of the billet parts that were made in house at TM.

Lol,it was about 2hrs later when I was down in the basement working on a friends bike it all of a sudden occurred to me "hey,I've been had"  Good one.Certainly believable though as over the years ownership of many Euro bike manufacturers has shuffled all over the place. I must have been having a "stupid" day.My daughter got me about four times

Damn you Opferman! You got alot of us good!!! The first thing I started to think was what in the heck is going on? First KTM merged with Husaberg & next BMW buys Husqvarna & ships the engines to Taiwan to be built and IMO some crazy Brits start building Maicos in Great Britain yet they are still being sold by Kostler in Germany & I have not located one single British Maico in the US and then you tell us that TM is merging with GasGas! That would be a shame to more less destroy the hand built custom TM's!!!

As i read the topic-title i knew something was funny.
As TM is italian and GG is Spanish, and they are earth rivals ,also off the track!
They don't mix well together.
But i like both. GG is the best bike for it's cheap price, very complete package.
And TM is just maniacal about every detail. Only built by a few craftsmen, not mass produced machinery.
