General Two Stroke Talk / Re: proof that our sport needs to change
« on: May 25, 2011, 10:39:49 AM »
"Austin Howell is privateering it this summer, and will race four-strokes...but ride a two-stroke during the week to lower his costs."

reading this i figure.. he rides 2s during the week and have fun, and race a 4s, because it's what he has to do, because his manager says so, and he get payed to rides the ultimate bike to technology.

when you talk to a vet that rides a 4s or a guy that use to ride to 2s, when the mention the word "2strokes" next they'll use the word "fun".

today i can't stay on the couch watching a full mx1 or mx2 moto! i get bored. don't know, but something is missing to the sport, it seems that it's not the way it meant to be.

even when they crash and the engine stall, there's no way to jump on the bike and try to catch the guy in front. you just kick and kick, till you get passed by all riders and you just leave to the paddock.

maybe i'm not seeing motocross as it should and i'm a complete douche.

motocross nowadays became a job, not a sport or a way of having fun.

times are changing for the worse!!

if you're getting a new bike and rebuild your old one, don't go for the 250f.

it will make more sense practice and racing both 2 strokes.

for me, if it doesn't burn oil, it sucks! (4$ with worn piston rings doesn't count)

you can go for a 2s with 5yrs or 10yrs, if it's in a decent shape, a brand new piston will bring it back to life and will be a reliable bike.

i don't understand why do i see lots of adverts selling 4$ as brand new bikes or such as 08 or 09 models! thats almost brand new, but they might so destroyed that they rather sell it than rebuild it.

my friends can't stick with a 4$ for more than 3yrs, they trade they'r bikes too often.

that looks like a masked ktm. maybe they are in the same deal as husaberg/ktm!

here in Portugal, now one cares about two strokes anymore, even the weekend riders. everyone moved to 4strokes and they say that "2 strokes are a thing from the past that dont have a chance next to four strokes". maybe because they never knew to ride 2 strokes as it should be, so 4strokes are the right bike for them.

for me it's like, those guys can't ride 2s the proper way, and they suck, so they get a 4s and they feel confident that they are an average rider.

i'm 25, and i own a 01 cr125, the one known as "a turd", but each day i'll try to be faster, and if someday i move to another bike, deffinetly will be a 250 2s and i will ride it as is should.

back to the fact!!

a guy that wants to become a good rider, gotta ride a 125 2s!!! a bike that you need to squeeze and feel it screamin like a bitch!

for all riders on top of theyr career at this moment, it's all about winning, and 4s is the bike to have. but when they stop racing for a factory team all of them will feel the need to have fun while racing, so 2 strokes come to theyr life.

thats why a watch carmichael's video so many times because he says "reaaly fun to be able to come here and ride this old two stroke"

sometimes i think that my bike is too old, and it's one of the slowest bikes arround, and should by a new one, even a new 2s, but f-it, this one never let me down.

they should forget about cameras ans care about guys that ride 4 strokes... it can break a valve and spit it from the exhaust..

those guys allways complain about something..jeez!

Sad day but it was always comming.
Yamaha wont be producing 2 strokes for much longer either.
For all their song and dance with tests in magazines etc they havn't done any updates since 06.
If they were serious they would do some serious updates.
If you compare a Euro bike from 06 to 11 every one of them have had major changes.

If you are a Yamaha fan I would buy 1 now while you still can.

yamaha's have been the best two strokes arround since..let's say, ever! if the bike is well made including chassi, engine, etc, why trying to modify the parts. i know that they can do better, but they can do the same mistake that honda made when they built they're first aluminum frame. they increased the handling and decreased in engine in theyr 125's. and then, people stop buying honda's like they done before and choose a different brand.

i think yamaha owners must be glad, because if they own a 2006 model, why sell the buy for a new one?! the bike stills the same.

« on: April 15, 2011, 07:09:20 AM »
for a portuguese guy like me sounds ok, because 2t for us is 2tempos (tempo=stroke).

in english, i don't know why to use a "T", it should be 2S and 4S..

don't know!

gonna burn some gas/oil/clutch! later..

Technical / Re: holeshot device
« on: April 13, 2011, 05:15:06 PM »
there will be the day that a rider wont need any skills to ride.

if you're a good rider and control throttle/clutch the right way, a holeshot device is pointless.

I imagine something like this!

"No, a ktm 150sx can't compete against 250f! the bike is gonna rip on track and team managers get fucked up cause they spent 50grand in an engine and other 50grand in a rider to get smoked!"

Up yours AMA! Motocross is getting too mainstream sport. It looks like european soccer..
