My bike is running!!
« on: August 06, 2010, 08:03:49 PM »
I finally got my bike running after much headache and heartache, and I am so stoked. Brand new Wiseco rings and piston, Hot rods cranks, and new stator and flywheel. Also, if any one needs a flywheel for a 2001 cr125, I have one here for sale. I am on my first ride on my brand new motor tomorrow, hope to post pics tomorrow night.
I'd rather be riding...

Great!

Just out of curiosity, the hot rods crank is it a complete crank or just the rod?  What made you go with Hot Rods Crank as opposed to OEM (which is avaialble for your bike @ $230)?

Modest beginings start with a single blow of a horn, man.

Good questions, well, the hot rods crank is the entire crank, comes completely assembled. Everything is ready to go, no pressing of a crank. I bought a kit off of motosport.com that included a wiseco top end, Athena gasket kit, and Hot rods complete crank and bearings. The reason why I bought this set is because I would have to ship my crank off to a company to take apart my crank and repress it, which I did not want to bother with, I also wanted to see if I would get any performance gains out of the aftermarket kit. An interesting side note, the crank, has plastic internals, where as my stocker was all metal, so I guess I got some weight savings there. :D

I hope to have mine running next week (07 CR250). I bought it at a salvage store for $900. So far I've put about $500 in it. I'll try and do the same next week.
