Non-Moto / Parts and Riding gear online retailers?
« on: May 10, 2012, 03:00:38 PM »
I feel your pain. Canada used to be like that.  Big country with a small population, it's more difficult and expensive to do business. Fortunately, we're next door to the US, and competition has forced Canadian retailers to become more competitive. You can still find examples of ridiculous pricing, but for the most part, things are much better than they used to be, and the internet has only helped.  I know your problem first hand. I can grind up a set of custom cams, and ship them air service to Australia for about half what they would cost there. That's a $500 savings.

Technical / Is A K&N Air Filter Worth Buying?

For a better understanding of just how a K&N filter works, fast forward to 6 minutes.

Despite the 80's glasses and goofy hair  ;D, few people will dispute Vizard's wisdom and knowledge.

maybe use an even finer paper.

Yes.  If/when you use a scotchbrite pad, always use a lubricant with it. Water works fine.

I used purple degreaser from Walmart (no name version of the Castrol one) mixed about 50/50 with water as a lubricant while I scuffed the plastics with a scotchbrite pad. Worked  :-*

They're probably better than either of those. I think just about all the desert buggy and truck guys use them for a reason.

They work great on off road bikes, but there's not much value at $120.

Some of the deals here on last years (and older) stuff are insane

I don't know where they ship to, but I will be placing an order soon. I could always repackage and ship some stuff out to you. I ship semi-regularly to Australia as part of my business.

I have one of these for sale  for $50 ;D

Interceptor is supposed to be a quality oil. I use it in my KDX at 50-1, but use 927 in my race bike at 32-1. 927 is not bad for the powervalve. Mine always looks mint, and clean at 32-1.

Rule of thumb for me, light use, trail or woods, 40 or 50-1. Racing 32-1. I don't care what oil it is.

For Sale / TSM T shirts

Somebody at your post office has made a mistake. I ship/receive hundreds of packages to and from the US every year. A shirt should be $4-$5

I would like to buy one. I would like to support TSM.

Shipping is free within the USA. Shipping to Canada is $20. It should cost a few bucks to ship a shirt to Canada.

Since I did not get a response through ebay, and the mistake has not been corrected in the auction, I thought I'd post it here.

;D
128 ounces = 1 US gallon

128 divided by 4 is 32, so 20oz of oil for 5 gallons for 32:1, 16oz for 40:1, 12.8oz for 50:1.

Notice it was edited. It took him 4 tries before he got it right  :P

Thank Christ for the metric system.....all this gallons, ounces, pints.......and whatever else.........i just mix 600 ml oil to 20 litres of juice.......nice n easy :P

Exactly what I was thinking.
Eventually Americans will figure it out on their own, and convert despite their government.
