General Two Stroke Talk / Calling BS
« on: May 21, 2013, 05:38:18 PM »
Just ran into a young man while picking up some race gas, He proceded to show me his 3 bikes in his Van of which one was the KTM 250 F that he does'nt race anymore because it goes through pistons like candy. He said when racing it was every 3 months for a piston. The laugher was that he just picked a 250 YZ 2 stroke and now it's his bike of choice.

I had the same problem with another bike, And it was a leaking base gasket. 3 siezes later I used a $17.00 self made leak tester found on google. If interested just use your search. Its perfect now and Idles like a watch just ticking over.

Charles have you thought about sponsorship from APT Billet smart carbs on those bikes.

Well I have to much time on my hands today, So I'll blather outloud. Even if you can't physically make it to the races . All it would take is Someone from the participating states who has some english writing skills and who is presentable and can talk and do an interview. Get them a press pass and pay for their tickets and let them do it for you and give them a few bucks. Even if it's a 4 stroke race and there is not one two stroke in it you can ask two stroke questions.
Thinking out of the Box. I know I would be talking to Chad reed who I think is on the downside and see what he thinks of running a two stroke even if it was for one last year next year. He is his own Co. There is so much that can be done with this for little money and time.
Josh Mcbride who is posting on here should be interviewed. Were are the 2 or 3 riders you have . They should be on this forum being interviewed and just plane having interaction with the forum members.
TSM could be at the races with a press pass asking nice but pointed questions to the Mfg's. So much so much can be done. Just opinions, but I believe in the 2 strokes and there is a wave going on right now and you guys can be riding it Big Time.

Huge marketing situation here, This Girl has probably already been approached by other Mfg's. It's obvious that out side of an injury she'll win the title. TSM you need an interview now. Find out what is the price for her to ride wearing an TSM jersey.
Your probably on top of this already but what an opportunity to push the web site, And 2 strokes period.

She probably has already been approached by one of the big 4 to race a 4 stroke.

knowing that these 250's put out almost 50 hp stock,It would be interesting to know what they have achieved at the factory with these engines.
that they don't want to say. I do believe that there is 2 stroke momentum buildlng and that some success in the U.S. with a large market could help push KTM to push there 2 stroke RD forward.
        At least I hope so.

Charles how about Ivan tedesco for a round of supercross on your 250 YZ. I think that would be a man to make that final 20 for the main.

I would think that there would be money for them if they made a 125. I'm suprised there not mentioning one.

I was'nt thinking of any specific 125 except I think of all the yz 125 that are out there and I think of someones potential profit if one were to be made and be available.
Yes I remember your post of the aprilla 125 with the rear rotary valve and 54 horsepower.

What you're doing is amazing, I have no doubt at all that the yz 250 will be phenomenal. especially when we know how much a yz 250 can put out under normal porting etc. Someone, were you folks are at needs to give you a 125 yz when you're finished up here with the 250. It would be nice to see a 45 horsepower 125 with an awesome power band. I also hope you can parlay this project into making some good money for you and your business.

For you folks in the know, Is there a correlation between raising your exhaust port timing and having to use larger main jetting? Thanks

Technical / Will this work?
« on: December 23, 2012, 05:51:03 PM »
Yep I talk and buy from tony when I need parts, He has no over size 125 18mm pistons and as for the others I've talked to no one else does eithier, He has 2 or 3 standard sized 18 mm.
Tony does though have over size 15mm pistons, so it looks like a new rod and piston after the first.
