That's wierd man, maybe it's those first year of that body style KTM's. I know the first 144's had crank problems that they later addressed.

I've got an 09 250sx that I ride at tracks pretty frequently, and race now and again. I like to wring it out too. I'm still on the stock top end and clutch! it's getting tired though.

I mix it 60:1, following the manual, while using fully synthetic pre-mix and 92octane.

I think the ultimate 250 combo would be an 08 RM250, with an 03 KTM 250sx motor stuffed in it.

2 strokes can sound like sh.it if they're not tuned right.

Also spode riders don't do them any justice.

85's definately don't do it for me, I'm more of a fan of 250's. A 125 can sound good if a rider knows how to ride one.

Four strokes sound good too though. Can't go wrong with a good thumper sound.

Yeah, I was there for that race. It was nice to see the 250 up front battling in the A classes. Those A guys clearing that single, table, single all in one was pretty sick.


I was the 724 KTM 250sx in the plus 25 class.

I remember Mike Brown piloting that thing in 2006.

He actually posted better finishes on the 250 then the 450 he rode in the earlier rounds. I think he got some top 10s or top 5s on the smoker, after everyone had switched to 450s

I've ridden there a few times. Didn't get around the track that fast though.


A good angle would have been that long table in the back. That thing hucks you pretty good.
