Jakes New Bike
« on: October 14, 2012, 01:49:42 AM »
With our fall series just a few weeks away we needed it get jake some seat time on his new bike. Its a low hour 2005 CR 250. On Wendsday we to it to Bobby Williams our local Pro-Action suspension rep. Bobby resprung it for Jakes weight 135lbs and seviced the forks and rear shock. On thursday we went out to the track he look very uncomfortable on it compared to the 125 he has been riding for the last three years. First thing i'm thinking this was'nt a good idea and how much could I get if I sold it! He came in and said it had a lot more power than the 125 and it didnt want to lay down in the corners. He also said the 125 felt that way the first time he rode it after getting off of his 85. WHAT A DIFFERENCE the next time out he passed everyone out there except one bike and he started last by his choice. Looked alot better. We made some adjustments raised the brake lever lowered the shift lever adjusted the clutch. We are going out next Tuesday, our first race is on Nov 4th. I will try to post more pictures.

Wow that is a low hour cr, the clutch cover looks new and the wheels really shine. At 135 lbs  he should holeshot every race.  ;D Should do some weight lifting, to save it when the bike gets out of shape. Like a sideways swamp, a 250 will punish ya where a 125 it,s no biggy to swamp sideways, just keep it pinned and have perfect body position on the bike. Sounds like he,s  getting used to it pretty quick, the cr250 has a works bike feel to it. Should be a exciting season, congrats.

msambuco we need to get together. We went to sunshine tonight and a new set of changes. He is still comparing it to the 125. He said it doesnt rev out like the 125. He looked even better tonight than the other night. Also lots of two strokes tonight. There is a kid named RJ Hamshire on a new Husqvarna 125 and it ripped. He won on it at Dade city goldcup this week end. He had the 125 jug on it. Oh by the way RJ's dad said he also races a new honda 250crf and with 12 hrs on it it grenaded broke the cases the whole engine was trash!! The thought of that gives me cold chills!! :o
