The Reeds act as a valve. It opens and closes to stop the air from returning through your carb backwards. 2 strokes have a pulse and the valve and the pipe work together with the motor to give it that perfect pulse. The Vforce theory, is that more valves will open and let more air through. It also will help more with control. I am not sold that they are any better necessarily though, they do work well, but also can make stock reed blocks work well too. It depends on what reeds are used for the stock setup and other mods done to the intake on certain bikes. I personally like the true rad valve that has the whole block as one, better. It makes the intake completely smooth from carb down to the motor. The edges of the rubber and then the reed parts in the way, slow air down in my opinion. But many rad valves are not true rad valves, meaning they only sell the reed holder front part and not the whole back to the carb setup, which is unfortunate.
