78 YZ 100 bolt torque specs
« on: May 29, 2011, 07:15:18 PM »
I'm rebuilding a 78 yz 100 and was wondering if anybody knew the torque speces for the following: bolts for crankcase halfs, nuts holding cylinder to crankcase, and the nuts that hold the cylinder head to the cylinder. I would go ask a yamaha dealer but there isn't one near me.  Thanks

Generic torque settings for bike engines.

M10     35Nm
M8       25-27Nm
M6       10-12Nm
M5       8Nm

These are a general rule for bolts into aluminium.
If you cant find any specs for your bike these will get you going.
If you don't fall off you are not going hard enough
