General Two Stroke Talk / 2006 KX250 suspension swap, help please!
« on: December 13, 2012, 02:26:43 PM »
If you are swapping the entire front end, I'd be 98.64% confident that the '12 450 front end would physically bolt right up.  I've put an '07 450 and now an '11 450 front suspension on my '04 kx 125 framed bike and the stem lengths are the same.

The bigger issue for you could be the length of the actual forks.  The 450 forks were longer than the 125 forks.  I had to run the 450 forks so high in the clamps to get the correct front end height that I ran out of clamping area on the lower clamp (if that makes sense).  It wasn't that difficult or expensive, but I shortened the 450 forks to get the proper fit.

I believe the '11 and '12 450 forks are identical.  I've revalved the '11 forks for woods riding, but they are the best I've ridden.

General Two Stroke Talk / JD Jetting...any reviews?
« on: December 11, 2012, 06:45:21 PM »
I've been using the JD needles in my KX/KDX hybrid for a little while now. I removed the factory spec needle right away and had been using a needle that is commonly recommended for the KDX engine. I thought I really had things dialed in with that needle.  But the JD needle took it to the next level. I wasn't expecting that much of an improvement.

I just wish you could buy the needles only.

Riding Spots / Has anyone been to KTM world in Georgia?
« on: April 11, 2012, 03:13:15 PM »
The "hills" at DP aren't anything close to what is at HP.

They have one track, but I've only been on it a couple of times.

I've been to Highland Park many times.  They have some nice steep hills.  I think you'll like the trails.

- trick 114 with 927 premix, at 44:1 sometimes 50:1

If you are on a 125, this is a big part of your longevity problem.

"0.25 Litre Engine enhanced by stronger fuel Jets"

What does this mean?

This is one I made for my AirStriker carb last year.  I already had the SS cable and brass, so it only cost me time. You can't see it, but I made a notch in the end so I can see where it is set.  And despite the brass end being smooth, I've never had any problems turning the screw with my gloves on.

I originally made one completely from brass, but it didn't have the external spring like the RB screw.  It was too heavy and without the tension/support of an external spring, it moved around too much as you turned it out.

The SS cable is light and flexes if you hit or knock it.
