idk if its more to save money or weight, the pro mechanics say its quite a bit lighter than the current forks being used, if it works the same/a little better and is lighter i think its a good move, but i bet they won't put it on the 2 stroke lol

imagine a 175 pound 125?  :o

BAD NEWS! HONDA OF HOUSTON STOPS ITS AMATEUR SUPPORT PROGRAM

Press release: Due to changes in the amateur support programs provided by manufacturers, Honda of Houston Racing, the amateur motocross support subsidiary of Honda of Houston, Houston?s exclusive Powerhouse Dealership, is suspending its amateur motocross trackside support program.  The program which began in 1997 has supported amateur motocross across the country providing riders both young and old everything from technical services, parts support and bike transport. ?We?ve been part of the careers of some of the sports premier riders and we are grateful for that experience,? says Race Team Manager Shaun Martin.

Today?s pro Supercross and motocross fields see a number of riders that have participated in HHR?s program. Riders such as Josh Grant, Will Hahn, Tommy Hahn, Jake Weimer, Lance Vincent, Chris Plouffe, Jessica Patterson, and many more have all benefitted from the guidance and support provided by the HHR crew. ?It is with great regret we are forced to make this decision, but the current economic state prevents the manufacturers from continuing the support we have been so successful with,? says Honda of Houston President Dave Martin.  Martin goes on to say ?Honda of Houston Racing would like to thank the many sponsors over the years that have helped the team achieve its goals and hopes the HHR program has contributed in some small way to the success and well being of amateur motocross racing and the customers of American Honda.?

Non-Moto / KTM overtaking the big four?
« on: February 25, 2012, 06:47:08 AM »
According to KTM: KTM is officially the most successful motorcycle manufacturer in Europe and the USA. KTM, who specializes in offroad bikes, but is expanding into street bike, sold 81,200 bikes in 2011 (up from 66,327 in 2010). Despite a motorcycle market that has seen a 5 percent decrease in sales overall KTM?s numbers increased,

KTM?s market share in Europe increased by 30 percent compared to previous year. ?Hence, KTM is the most successful brand and outpaced its competitors clearly?, explains Stefan Pierer, Chairman of the Executive Board of KTM Power Sports AG.

aside from them looking super trick, what is the advantage to one of these pipes compared to say a fmf or similar?

They look super trick-that's got to be worth twice the $$ doesn't it? Well, not to me but to each his own :)

the ONLY thing keeping me from buying one would be because they have no finish on them (why would you cover up the cone pipe look though?) but ya, because i wouldn't keep up with it, and it would eventually rust on me. i'll stick to a plated pipe with a carbon or ti silencer :)

what's cool about that is if they fall, and happen to stall it, they likely won't get it started again. My buddy who rides a 250f that is hopped up was leading a race, he slide out and stalled, and couldn't start it again, had to push it back to the truck. he still thinks 4t's are better

Thats a rather unique or extravagant combination. 8) ;D

Yea well you only live once, and I do not adhere to the "just clean your filter" mentality.

If you go on vital, you will see that there is a whole army of guys who will admonish:

1.  light weight bikes.  because they honestly believe a heavier bike is better.  (but if you told them to tie a brick to their valve cover, you'd be the asshole)

2. any aftermarket parts.

MX is so full of ADHD toolbag drywall hangers/landscapers it is not even funny anymore. That, in conjunction with the mini-rider's parents with ridiculous budgets and 30,000 dollar superminis for their son who only got into MX because he didnt have a long enough attention span for little league. Hence why the summer of 2012 is going to be the "District 13 Park-a-thon".

i'm guessing you'll be administering the parking tickets?  8)

I have been riding a cr 125 for a few months now.

it may not have the midrange power of a tm but it,but as you posted you get a 144 to

turns rely good. and the few problems i had was addressed from 2011 models.

haven`t done much maintenance yet.. but things like changing clip possision and spark plug is so easy on them.
and power valve is easy to adjust too.  you don`t need tools on the husky when cleaning filter

have you ridden a yz125 or a ktm 125 to compare it to?
and does it have a hydrolic clutch? i thought i read somewhere that it did

where are you located?

i've tried to find everything i can about the cr125, and i've come across very little info besides the wr125 link that was given. It's super tempting but i'm not going to pull the trigger until i ride one and or find a very good article on one.
