General Two Stroke Talk / OK EVO,it was your idea........
« on: April 11, 2013, 10:25:59 PM »
Sorry ford i gotta jump in Fosters!!!!!!!! definitely wrong island that other one across the tasman full of crocs and kangaroos would love that stuff, but rum oh yes im in.Im a beleiver these days of generally the modern mxers are very similar albeit for little bits here and there that are there to turn you into the next villipoto(or so they claim),I remember back in the 80s when disc breaks were introduced that was a fad and wouldnt take off.For me a lot of it can come down to rider comfort, through the carmichel years i rode suzuki they fitted well but im a short arse anyway.sure theres little differences between brands updated suspension is great but anyone looking at riding hard would look at revalving anyway,as to competitiveness put a pro rider on either bike and i reakon they will turn pretty comparible laptimes ,i raced our nationals a few few few years ago was on the old crf at the time and we had a guy putting in top 20 finishes on his vmx (and before someone says we wereall slow we had 6 guys in the class who had either been a world champ, going to be world champ or finished in the top 5 in mx1 gp)
So what my big rant is sure the new bike looks great, the old bike will still go great ,would be great if they pumped billions into development ,but ride what you like  and go buy a TM

Its not just your end of the world fullas,we are getting it here as well although luckily enough we have a bit of space to move around in but we have lost four moto tracks which were out in farm country because nimbys (not in my back yard) have sold there flash house in the city ,moved to the country and expect no noise at all, then complain like heck when they hear a tractor/motorbike etc it got so bad one farmer here got noise complaints when cropping and had to shut down  but good luck with a bit of luck they might move on and you will get ya track back

Im a michelin fan as well they hold up well the s12 is great i do like the ms3 as well but more durabillity and the m12 is great if conditions get a bit harder although you cant turn it as to the sizing a cant say i really notice a dramatic difference between the 110 and 120

well guys we can live and hope ,im biased but go buy a tm ,honda style frame,a few honda internals and blingy to heck, but if we look into it more the japanese companies must be getting worried at the sea of orange at offroad events and trail rides ,all on there 300s and 250 smokers, theres got to be some alarm bells ringing ,alot of xcs enduros all i see are ktms, husabergs gasgas oh a few 4bangers to make up numbers.Mx is great and i love it but in the real world most are buying bikes for fun playing etc with the hard core crew racing .But whispers are whispers so great if it comes true.On direct injection and someone can correct me if im wrong back in 1992 i remember seeing a article in mxa about damon bradshaw doing some japanese mx and sx on a prototype yz250 alloy frame(more honda shape than present)which also had DI but i could be wrong the results were impressive evidently  lets cross our fingers

Non-Moto / Any trials riders?
« on: February 27, 2013, 07:00:18 PM »
Its a full learning experience guys, its amazing how moving your weight 1inch can be the make or break of getting up a hill.i got into them 4 years back when fuel got so costly it was costing round 60/70 dollars just to go for a play somewhere(fuel for the truck as well) but the do improve your balance and technique the biggest thing ive found is instead of hittin stuff at warp 9 like i would on my 250 im now assesing obsticals alot differently but in the end if all the hard enduro winners are x trials guys cant be a bad sport to get into have fun on that gasgas good to hear how you get on

ther awesome if got a beta rev3 great for exploring in the mountains ,they teach amazing clutch control but once you ride them for a while it gives you new options at attacking things on your regular bike  ohyeah cheap to run and you only need a couple of acres to have fun
