I'm selling my RM250. Bills are piling up so I've got to sacrifice something.

Full pro-circuit exhaust, suspension by MX-Tech (225lbs), renthal twinwalls and fresh plastic and decals. It is a great bike. Handles awesome and pulls hard! The top end has 15.1 hours on it. I put new swingarm and linkage bearings in it when the hour meter read 7.2 hours.

Bike is located in Northern Illinois, near Dixon, Illinois.

I was looking through a thread with the forum members bikes and there are some RMs with black wheels...it pushed me over the edge. I've always wanted black wheels on mine! They look so much better than the gold, IMO.

What brand do you recommend? Do you guys with black wheels by the whole wheel or just the rim and lace to the stock hub. I don't know how to lace a wheel? I have gold excels...I hate the gold.

I know this is an old thread but my RM is really sensitive to sag. Mine is soooooo awesome on hardpack at 97mm sag and great in the sand at 104mm. Get yourself a sag tool and research suspension setup. Turning is greatly influenced by the sag you're running.

Before I knew what I was doing, I got my suspension back from MX Tech and just threw it on the bike and went riding. It was soooo touch and would wash out the front end in corner entry. After I emailed Jeremy from MX Tech he asked what my sag was set at. It was at 80mm!?! So, too much weight was on the front end which made it nervous and twitchy. Lesson learned!!

The techniques discussed here is great as well. I look to the apex, then, one I get to the apex, I look to where I want to be after the corner. This is a great tip to practice, it will make your corner speed faster!

P.S. I have my forks set 7mm above the clamp.

Scariest bike I've ridden was my 08 GSXR1000. That damn thing was ridiculous...scared the crap outta me. It begged to be ridden hard. I made some bad decisions on that bike. 176mph was a huge rush but made me decide to get rid of it...way too easy to go fast.

Scariest dirtbike was a 05 CRF450 that my buddy dirttracks. No front brake and a barely there rear brake on a bike that's geared for a mile track being ridden on a short track is definitely scary! I'm used to my RM's brakes, which are super sensitive, the way I like them!

Yeah, I get 99% of them from Craigslist. I live in a very 2-stroke rich area though.

Lucky! I've read a lot of the posts on this forum and ya'll really have me wanting a 125. I think it will really be a blast at the tracks I ride. (KI tracks, Byron Moto Park and a buddies personal SAND track!))

It all depends on where you live. I always see posts like these, and cringe.
In VA I buy bikes all the time, cheap. A few months ago I picked up a 96 and 97 RM 125, $500 for both. 95 YZ 250 $200.
I'm picking up a 2001 YZ 125 today for $600.
Shop around.

I live in northern illinois. Do you find most of your deals on craigslist?
