New year
« on: February 27, 2011, 04:15:34 PM »
I just wanted to say hi and tell you guys a little about what I've observed so for this year. Our first race of the year was 2-13-11 at Motocross of Marion county also know as Reddick a little town north of Ocala. We got there early on Sunday morning and there was frost on the ground a carpet of white. First thing we got out the propane mister heater to warm up. By 8:30AM the frost melted and it warmed up to about 70. This time of year we have alot of people from up north and it makes it interesting to race some new faces.
The first thing I noticed at practice in the stagging area lots of Two Stroke Smoke!! There realy is a change happening here. One of the guys from upstate New York racing a 2001 cr250 in the B class and finished 3rd out of about 20. A few years ago when you showed up with a Two Stroke people used to laugh you were an odditity and no way you could beat a f4 stroke! Well now they know you can and many are and you can see the switch.
The biggest move here is to 125's Today we went to practice at a new track in Tampa, Eastbay Motocross again lots of Two Stroke Smoke!! Saw a friend of ours that stopped racing for a while he had two CRF250 Honda when we last saw him last year. Now he has two 2008 KTM125's and loves them. " I go way faster on the 125's" our old track now has a 125 class with alot of up and comming riders going to 125's over 250Fs. The kids that were a year of two younger than Jake are now getting off of there 85's and on to 125's and winning. Next week Daytona will let you know how that go's and take some Pics.Wish us good luck!
