My dad recently bought a husky te250 and its really cool. we haven't got it in the garage yet because we still have to pay for it before it leaves the dealer, don't ask, its just a deal that my dad made. anyways we have heard some really cool things about it, and also some really bold and almost unbelievable claims about its performance. My dad talked to the mechanic at the dealer and he said that this bike will do 100 mph out of the box. now while that is pretty insane, it still is believable. what i find to be too big of a claim is this: the mechanic had owned the same type of bike before and he said that there was so much top end power that it had the power of a 2 stroke power band in the top rpm's. Now i ride 2 strokes (hence my account name) and i have only ever owned 2 strokes -5 bikes to be exact- ever since my first bike and i know first hand the sheer power of the 2 stroke power band. Everyone knows that the power in the 2 stroke top rpm/power band is unmatched by any four stroke. If the displacements (cc's) were the same on a four stroke and a 2 stroke bike, the 2 stroke would smoke the four stroke no questions asked. So I find it very hard to believe that this husqvarna is capable of what these guys at the shop are saying. I'm not saying its a bad bike, i love it as a matter of fact, but this just seems ridiculous. I'm not very experienced yet since i've only been riding for 6 years, so tha'ts why i'm asking the people on this forum that have the "know how". So do you think this 4 stroke has the top end power of a 2 stroke? I'm thinking maybe, if the 2 stroke they compared it to was a 65 or 85, but in my opinion, its nowhere near a 125 or 250 2 stroke. Even with your knowledgeable answers, there's only one way to find out. ride it. but still, do tell me what you think. :
