ok, so today i raced here
http://motocross338.org/ for this
http://www.acrmx.com/index1.html. in the process i relinquished my points chase in the classes i race for the nesc. i know you are all sad and wondering how i could do such a thing, but believe me i was not going to hold the lead long anyhoo cause i dont do all the rounds. lets get to the racing shall we, the cool thing about these acr events is they give you two fifteen minute practices in the morning. f-ing ****in, you truly feel like its a pro national out there cause there are tons of bikes and sand is flying your railing berms like a boss and dicing with the days competition. trust me its all that. after the epic practices, i had to make some fork and shock changes in order to be better prepared for the days inevitable battles. for the class i am racing, yes only one class today, it is strictly 125cc machines on the line. there is no ability or age groupings, its feast or famine. the goal i had before practice was top five, but after sizing up as many 125 riders in practice that i could, i came to the conclusion that a top ten was more realalistic. first moto i pick a gate two spots left of the dog house next to a b rider i diced with in practice on my right and a space to my left occupied by a vintage 125 rider awaiting the second gate drop. so im good right? i mean this guy knows you go in a straight line at the drop of the gate, after all he is a b rider. nope! "left turn clyde" right into me. neither of us fell but i got the shortest straw on this go around. i recover well enough to catch the pack into te first turn, so i start making my way through the pack and by the end of the first lap im in a void ahead of a group but a straight away behind the others. i put my head down and start laying down flowing laps for three laps to finally catch the group ahead but i only manage to pass one more before the checkers. another lap and mabe two more as i was all over them like a cheap suit. moto one score, p-9. moto two arrives and was happy to recieve an apollogy from "right turn clyde" who generally felt bad about his squidom. im determined to get a better start so line up three spots to the left of the dog house with a space on my right and clyde next to the dog house and an a rider to my left. i also recruited my pal phil to sweep my gate, thanks phil. to no avail, i am forced to back out due to my own apparent squidom off the line. i do recover nicely and find a opening between riders and stuff it in there like lorenz at that canuckian track. i can at least see the lead pack. i manage to make an inside pass on some dude on a yamaha just before the camel hump only to lose a spot to some dude on a honda after blowing it in the buckley berm, for the next two laps i am hunted by the yamaha assain, he wants back by in the worst way. he gets me on lap three over the camel hump to a left hand off camber to the buckley berm on the outside, but i keep him in my sights for the next lap when disaster strikes. not the disaster your thinking, the ride like a squid disaster. mistake after mistake poor line choice and general"wtf are you doing" moments. the yamaha assain yards me and im left in a lonley void of squidom to the checkers. moto two position p-7. so to sumize i go 9-7 for sixth oa, not bad just one spot away from first goal and spot on for actual goal. fun factor through the roof!
