The Maico Challenge
« on: April 02, 2010, 10:50:23 AM »
Here is something that we can all sink our teeth into... the Maico Challenge!!

Simply it's to challenge those folks that have put the name Maico on their machine to a test shootout.

Who do you think will be victorious??

If the company does accept the challenge, we will need a few additional test riders of differing abilities. Do you live in the Northeast? What level racer are you? Would you like to be a part of the shootout?

Cripes John, you want me to put a Maico sticker on my YZ :o Horrors :'(
I'd rather a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

I would love to do a test on one of the new Maico's, I don't care what size, and I'll even supply a place to ride it. I also have newer and older bikes to compare it to. I'm a half hour away from Southwick.

I would love to read a serious shoot-out between the Orange "Maico" and the 2010 MMX.  It would be a brilliant, old-days-of-dirt-bike-magazine-style format to put the grand TSM Maico test in.  Like the time they did a bike test... with the "bike" being Super Hunky's El Camino.  They even reported the lap-times it did at the local MX track, if I recall correctly. :)

Serious bike tests are great, and the TSM test definitely needs to have some hard-hitting reporting behind it.  But there's no rule saying you can't be hard-hitting and off-the-wall at the same time.

Is this Maico a 440 or only a 400?  Well in all the confusion, I forgot myself.
But considering this is a 1978 Magnum, the best-handling bike in the world, you have to ask yourself one question.
Do you feel lucky, punk?

The AMA 4 stroke displacement rule is simply the AMA's Rich Kid's Handicap Rule!
