The pricing of the RMs in the UK really highlights the price of the YZ 2ts.
Yamaha sells the YZs at a very steep price, for a bike(s) that is essentially the same thing since their introduction. As MXA mentioned in their test, they think it should be a lower price - at least closer to the original price. I think the 250 2t is the same or a higher price than the 250 4t. You could say it's economies of scale, but I'd throw right back at those that said that, the amortissement of cost with such a long term production run.....
Perhaps Yamaha are milking the 2t for all it's worth to help out with the burden of holding so much unsold 4t stock?
Maybe the Brit distributors are being used as a clearing house for the last of the Suzuki 2ts?
Are the Suzukis being sold in other markets still?
I still hope, perhaps in vain, that Yamaha will do one of their classic ground breaking moves, like the Reed Induction, Mono shocks, the YZfs, by suddenly bringing out a DFI 2t. But I'm not holding my breathe on that. They've got DFI 2t outboards, so at least they haven't given up completely.
