Technical / top end blown? :(
« on: June 10, 2012, 05:39:20 AM »
me to the guy I just bought the bike from: "Hey I'm the guy who bought your bike.. it hasn't run for about a week, I can't get spark to it. I'm not too worried about it just wondering if you knew of the stator or cdi being bad, or did any electrical to it? thanks."

his response: "it did the same thing when I bought it, the woodruff key between the crank and flywheel was bad, I couldn't find a factory one so I found one at the hardware store and made it fit."

..what is a woodruff and how do I repair this? thank you!

Disconnect the kill switch and see if you have no spark.
If still no spark remove the fuel tank and disconnect each ignition wire 1 by 1 and check the terminals are clean and not corroded.
Let us know after you have done that.
Most no spark problems are a simple shorted or dirty connection.

Yep did all that and even checked my coil at the local shop. I'm stumped..

Hey I just bought a used rm125 last weekend and am new to dirt biking pretty much. It started up both days I rode it and then yesterday it started first kick and then I accidently dropped the clutch twice, and now the bike won't start at all. I even put a brand new spark plug on, tried to compression start and it just bogs out.. not much compression in kick start either. Any ideas? Much appreciated!

Technical / New to the clutch
« on: June 05, 2012, 07:01:14 PM »
Hey I'm just getting back into riding and am pretty young so I've never had a clutch. Anyway I bought a used rm125 recently, and I constantly pop the clutch going from neutral to first and am getting very frustrated.. I can barely even ride! However once I get out of first shifting is no problem. So any tips on how to not let out  the clutch so fast? Any tips are appreciated, thanks!... oh and the bike has vforce reeds and has been jetted if that makes a difference.
