Here's a reply I received back today from Levi Perrson at topgearmx@yahoo.com:

"Now i told you what was wrong and agreed to refund 600 dollers i am not giving you 500 dollers worth of parts (rad valve piston gasket phat head and domes) send everything back for a full refund  or take the refund lets get this over with."

Sounds like he may be willing to work it out.

Yeah, definitely good stuff. I'm glad you put it on Vital too. Give those guys a little dose of the future.

Yeah, at least he didn't get hurt or at least pull any muscles. I know my back, legs, and everything else would be toast!

Can you blame them. Those KTMs are badness! Who wouldn't want to have one?!

Sure the US has an impact on the thoughts of OEM execs, but it is company pride more than anything else with the Japs. I could see Honda wanting to have a clean environment image, but it boils down to what the OEMs want. They want 4-strokes in AMA Pro Racing and 2-strokes gone. So, that's what the AMA gave them. The OEMs pay the bills, that's the way it works.

Kind like a friend on mine son's issues...  He drank the Kool-Aid, and "had" to have a 450, as his YZ250 was not competitive (try twisting the throttle a little more)...  He traded the YZ250 and cash for a CRF450...  He thought he was king S$%t....  only to have valve issues....  they were shimmed too tight.  Now he's hesitant to ride it for fear of doing damage...  he now wants to ride his dads KX125...  sorry son you "had" to have the 450....  so either ride it, or get rid of it....  Sometimes kids (mine too) have to learn the hard way...  He's now is looking to unload the 4 stroke turd for a smoker...  imagine that...

Great photo

I'm glad he's looking for a 4-stroke, but why doesn't he just get the valves fixed? How hard can it be? I know, I know. Am I on the dark side? Help!

I think with the AMA and the OEMs it is nothing more than the fact that it's a 2-stroke. They just don't want any 2-strokes in Pro Racing. The performance doesn't matter. There is no real logic, they just want to kill the 2-stroke. That's the only reason we haven't had any change in the rules.

If the 250 is free, just take it for a project bike. I'd go with the most current yz since it's cheaper. It depends on what kind of upgrades he's talking about. Ride it and then decide. There are tons of bikes out there to buy.

Great article. :P

Good to see them list most of the current 2 Strokes available for the US, enough smokers to choose from.
Now it's time for the mags to switch to 2 Stroke truth, and do some articles to actually inform the buyers.

More and more people will see the light, and are slowly starting to come out of their shells. . .

The rule-makers and OEM's are beiing flamed more and more, but as I said before,
they will go down fighting and resisting till the last second.

When will this current AMA / OEM dictatorship finally collapse..? :-\

Yeah, I liked seeing the bikes too. That was actually the first picture I've seen of the Husaberg 125, and the Gas Gas.

I don't think we will see a collapse of the AMA/ OEM dictatorship any time soon. There are people in the AMA (well, really one person) who will fight to keep the OEMs happy at any cost.

There is always a possibility of a new series springing up, sort of like freestyle and arenacross has.
