General Two Stroke Talk / Re: New guy here
« on: March 08, 2011, 09:02:18 PM »
First I would like to say that this is an amazing website/forum :) I finally decided to join after looking for a few weeks. I am new to the two stroke community but not new to motocross, I am just now coming off a 2 year break i took to recover over some injuries and for college. Now I am in my last year in college and I decided to buy another mx bike and before i quit i rode a 08 kawasaki kx250f, but I didnt want another 4 stroke again main reason being the maintenance cost, so I bought a 06 kx250 and I LOVE IT!! i should have made the switch a long time ago :) I have included a picture of my bike with a few things i have added.

Sweet ride I'm on a 2007 kx250...i love that thing, I tamed her down a bit with a PC Plat2 pipe and a 13 ounce counter weight(spreads out the power a bit) .. :P

Project YZ / Re: YZ Project pics.
« on: March 07, 2011, 03:53:58 PM »
It's obvious that we Aussies don't realise that anodizing and decals actually makes your bike faster :-*

Nobody ever said that would make it faster. There is nothing wrong with taking pride in the appearance of your machine. It is getting plenty of performance mods (not just "bolt on bling"), so I don't see the problem with wanting it to look nice as well as run nice.

The point of a project bike is not to buy a new bike, but take an old one and make it as good as new. It's called "Project YZ" not "Bought New YZ"  :D .

:-* I do not understand the discontent with some members about this project, I personally think it's a great idea to take an older bike strip it down make it look good(powder coat etc..) It's also mentioned that motor work is also part of the project....we all know it's stupid easy to freshen up the top end, maybe throw in a pipe, silencer, and Vforce3 or Boysen reeds, revalve the suspension and hell you have a better than new bike. People need to take this for what it is FUN

I wouldn't count on it. Honda has made it very clear that they will never make them again.
I don't see them going back on thier word.. again.

;D if smokers gain ground here in the west like they are in some parts of europe mr. honda may have to eat crow or continue to lose market share, and kawi / suzi will follow the leader.. 8)

My favorite part of the article...

Q: What do we really think?

A: The 2011 Yamaha YZ250 two stroke is like an IQ test for the motorcycle buying public.  Are you smart enough to buy a bike that costs less, weighs less, makes more power per cubic centimeter, can be rebuild for recycled aluminum can money and is giggle inducing?  It is hard to believe that the American riding public flunks this test en masse.  How stupid are you?

Awesome MXA.  Awesome.

 ;D buhahaha, couldn't of said it better myself....lmao... :P
