Alright will someone please help me on how to change the basket out on a 2008 YZ125, I have heard you have to grind off some rivets to install a new one or something along those lines....If anyone could help that would be awesome because I plan on doing it tomarrow, Thanks!

Well to get to the back of the basket which is what hold the basket itself on, you need to take out the 6 (I think) clutch spring bolts. Then you need to remove the clutch plates. Once those are out, you should see the back of the basket. If I am not mistaken, there should be a large bolt holding it on in the back. I don't know about rivets though...

Good luck, and were there any rivets? I don't remember seeing any in my clutch, but it could be different, its aftermarket.

The aluminum clutch basket is riveted to the steel primary gear.Typically the parts are replaced as an assembly.

most clutch basket are riveted..   what you do is  center punch them and drill them out..

aftermarket  baskets often have  screws instead of rivets. some do at least..

they of then have instruction on how to replace the basket

Alright I just grinded the heads off the rivets and pried the plate off the gear, worked out nicely! When you replace the clutch basket you have to re-use that primary gear on the back of your old basket. The beast is almost up and running!  :D
