no they didnt send a team. dunno why.
Found this article:
http://home.ama-cycle.org/prorace/archive/01mxdn/

"Our lives most certainly changed forever after the morning of September 11. The adjustments to the lifestyle of most Americans is not yet set, but in the short-term, many changes have already taken place. Foremost to motocross fans is the decision to not send Chevy Trucks Team USA to defend it's Motocross des Nations title.

The decision was a difficult one, but it only made sense given the climate of the world at this point. The event will still go on, but not without the crowd-attracting Team USA, who many were picking to repeat.

See the news release below about the decision. "

Still doesnt say why, and the "new releases"-links dont work for me. Anyone else knows why?

It said right in the text you quoted as to why the US wasn't there. Do you not remember what happened September 11, 2001?

No apologies necessary. I did not mean to sound condescending, it just came out that way.

Understandable.

Anyways, that track is very odd. Looks more like a well groomed trail to me.
