The oil on the swing arm is just from rich jetting and probably old packing in the silencer. Also, keep in mind that just because he SAYS there are low hours, does not necessarily mean he JUST rebuilt it. I find it hard to believe he rebuilt it in 09 and has only put 10 hours on it since... That's three years. Other than that it seems to be in good shape, $1,000 for what I have seen in my area is a pretty good for a price. The ones in CT go for around $1,500 or so. But, usually when people buy a used smoker, they put a new top end in anyways because there is just no way of verifying how many hours are really on it. Top ends are cheap, so it wouldn't hurt to just throw new rings and a piston in it anyways. Good luck with it if you end up buying it  :)
05+ yz125's where I'm at go for like $2000 so this must be a hell of a good deal. The only way I could buy it though is if i sell mine first.

I was browsing craigslist for any new bikes like I usually do every once and a while and came across an 05 YZ125 for only $1000 and it's only 10 minutes from where I live! I noticed there is a lot of oil on the swingarm coming from what looks like the exhaust seal, other than that she looks golden, put some new plastics, graphics, exhaust, and handlebars on her and she'd be good to go! Unless there's engine work that needs to be done.. What do you guys think?

 ???
it's because he has no title, which is gonna cost some money to get that all sorted out and an extra 2 hours waiting in the dmv... but thats a good bargain but taking the risk of it being stolen or salvaged, I dunno. :D

Non-Moto / How big have you gone?

On purpose? Not too sure... my eyes were closed  :o
Haha exactly.
My biggest is a 70ft table top at my friends private track, I have been riding there for almost 3 months but never had the balls to do it until just last week.

not too bad. try to ride with at least one finger on the clutch at all times, although you have no slap clutching like i see in some of these vids. keep it on the up critta.

General Two Stroke Talk / Wife authorized a new YZ125...
« on: September 19, 2012, 04:33:53 AM »
I don't need the fastest bike, I need the bike I'm fastest on.  The SSS (re-sprung) is ready to race.  I'm so much more comfortable on the YZ.  That goes a long way.  Oh yeah, I get parts at dealer cost.

You should get the 2013 KTM150sx, that thing would rip WAY more than the yz
You should quit school, get a job, and buy one. It's your money. Best of luck!!

Thanks for the replies! Oh, and I'm deployed for months at a time. It makes the old girl feel special by exercising some control over my life, as she knows in reality she has very little.
if I could afford a brand new bike... :O I stuck with the 2000-2004 range right now, I have an 01

I dont understand, 150f's are powerless woods bikes, how would those pose any threat to the 85's... 150R's on the other hand :)

for all intensive purposes, we're talking about the 150 4 stroke race bike lol NOT the 230 pound 150 mom bike
Oh he said 150f so it got me all confused haha! :D

That's all?  ;D I get about 2 at least every night with college classes and trig/pre-calc... That's not bad. I still find time to practice for hours too, you just have to balance out your schedule and find time to do what you love to do. The only challenge is going to be winter (Depending on where you live) when it gets dark at like 4:30.
it gets dark at like 6-7PM where I'm at in the Winter
