$20 bucks says Premixed or someone can build that machine in their backyard for under 3 grand.

What an asshole. He either has serious issues with maths or is just trying to make his machine sound cool. I do want that bike though it'd be awesome to have a 125

Craigslist is becoming worthless.  (unless you want to get your dick played with by a dude named Tina)

Word of mouth is the only way to go anymore.

This is how I do this.

Look at photos.

What needs to be replaced IMMEDIATELY.

1. it has freestyle bars. this isnt the x-games. replace. grips, lever are bent like a raptor claw.
2. pipe is corroded to hell. replace or sandblast. the silencer is oem, probably shot to hell.
3. both tires
4. all plastics, but save the tank
5. top end, because you have no idea. probably end up splitting the cases (bring a compression tester)
6. probably wheel bearings.
7. fork seals/bushings
8. brake pads
9. all fluids/routine maint shit.

would need to be completely torn down.  probably needs swing arm bearings and bushings, (linkage) you'd find that out later.

that's bare minimum for me.

now, i would not be happy unless the frame was powdercoated.
needs 1999 Chapparal Yamaha McGrath graphics.

would take 3-4 weeks, depending on how much eBay you used.

NOW what is it worth?  about 600-700 dollarsif you need a top end.  however, if you bring a compression tester and it is between 140-160, maybe 900.  i'd hope it DOES need a top end, because i'd probably put one in it anyway.

I did this analysis on my KTM.  the ad said "make offer".  my offer? 200 bucks.  he was happy to take it, after I talked to him.  but this particular guy seems "proud" of this clapper.

oh, and i'd put an 02 aluminum subframe on it, just because.

...my offer? 200 bucks.  he was happy to take it, after I talked to him.

The problem with that is many times sellers think you are just making stuff up trying to get the price lower. I was pointing out things that were bad on a bike once and the guy flipped out. He insisted he was selling a clean, well running bike. Some people are pretty ignorant and refuse to listen  :D .

Craiglist bikes are like women.  Other fish in the sea.  You find something you don't like right off the bat you say "check please!" (in the womans case) or "have a nice night" in the CL case.

I've only bid on an Ebay bike once and that's because it was a local bike, it ended up going overseas for alot more than I was willing to pay for it

I've only ever bought one "complete" bike on eBay. It was a known basket case so I got what I expected. I have heard plenty of horror stories about sellers using older pictures when the bike was nicer.
