All that pipe needs is abrasive pads and elbow grease.  They have both of those at Home Depot.

I never put a protective coat on my pipe and it rusted in a few months, Then i went at it with some sandpaper and got it all perfect and covered it with some high temp clear. It came out kind of golden brown after the heat hit it, Its pretty good looking, I'll post some photos later

problem is i wouldn't keep up with it, otherwise i'd do it, that's the only reason for painting it

Get some high temp clear engine paint from a local advanced auto parts and coat it twice kind of thick, the hot parts of the exhaust will have a golden brown tint to them but overall it looks nice

Good god, don't you guys spray your bikes with WD40 after you wash them?

There is no need for spray paints and all that shit.  Wash your bike, and about every other ride, hit the pipe with an Scotch brite pad.  then spray some WD40 on it before you put it away.  It displaces water and keeps everything from rusting.  Buy the gallon jug of it at Lowes and use an old spray bottle.

It's your bike, do what you want with it, but I would never spray any sort of paint or anything on an FMF Factory finish pipe.

Oh, I'll have to try the WD40 thing, My pipes stock. I would have to agree if it was a FMF i would'nt touch it, Whats better a FMF combination or a Pro circuit with the 304?

I think FMF's silencers are a little higher quality, and I think FMF uses a little better quality metal on their "factory" finish pipes.  but as far as performance? You'll never notice a difference in the 2.  Strictly quality, FMF.

Scalvinis are only about 30 dollars more than FMF.

KTMS 2008 125 made 38 horsepower accoridng to mxa. Thats as much as the 150 makes now and its newer. Thats pretty embarrassing for them. Anyway my point is they are rockets. Have fun :D

not to mention i have a little motor work and a fmf system, so maybe looking more towards 40? either way, it'll be way more than that turd of a stock cr i had, i rode a 03 yz 125 this past weekend and it was way snappier and accelerated quicker/cleaner than my cr ever thought about doing. the only thing the yz had was a pc system

i cannot stress how much i want to ride this thing   That,s odd  my  06 cr125 stock jug, with leaner jetting, pipe, rad valve  pulled  all   the  yz,s   and  ktm,s  easily  and  I weigh  170 plus  in my  birthday suit.  Please  don,t  paint  the  factory finish pipe, just  wd40  and scotch bright pad.  It,s   your  bike tho, whatever makes  ya happy.

You're not going to keep up with the finish on your FMF pipe?

Then why bother with all the powdercoat, cosmetics, and building the thing at all man?  Just ride it and let it rot. :(

Blowing your bike off with an air compressor, and a light coat of W40 will keep a bike looking new for so long.

It's really not that hard to clean up a pipe. Seriously, scotchbrite or this, which is a little more aggressive: http://www.pepboys.com/product/details/209906/372/car_care/body_repair/abrasives/

Would'nt the WD40 make it oily and slick?

That's why some people use it, especially on plastics, the dirt and hardened mud wont stick to it. And on metal surfaces it will keep water from pooling up and rusting the pipe, like wax on a car.
