Dutch VHM-company to Develop New Cylinder Heads for Honda CR500

by JohnNicholas on 01/04/2010

VHM, a very busy company in The Netherlands is developing special new cylinder heads with 4 different interchangeable inserts.
Engineers and both former MXGP-riders Theo Bouw and Heikki ‘Sealand’-VanDenBerg decided to add this item to their long list of two-stroke tuning parts.

One of VHM's heads for the CR250.

They say; “there are a lot of 500?s out there still riding and they kéép on riding. Here on the Dutch sand-circuits we still see the steel framed traditional CR500s but also an increasing amount of Imported or Hand Built AluminiumFramed CR500?s! Not only as MX, Enduro, SuperMotard, Road-Race and BeachRace-bikes but also in the MX-SideCar competition, where at amateur level more than 50% of the teams use CR500?s engines. Offering them cylinderheads with interchangeable inserts gives them way more possibilities in tuning their engines.

The CR500 cylinderheads are being developed in cooperation with former Dutch GP500rider – and double GP-podium finisher Carlo Hulsen and will be available by the beginning of 2010 .
