Suzuki guys, I need help
« on: August 27, 2012, 07:31:16 PM »
I went to look online for a clutch for my sons 01 RM125. What is K1, K2, K3, K4, K5, and K6 all about? How do I tell which one I have? Also are the stock metal plates steel or aluminum? Thanks.

So development on the RM 125 stopped after 01 and future years had minor changes is the way I read this. Thanks. I will pull the clutch to see if I have steel or not. If I don't then I will need to buy those too.

Usually a quick look at the tranny fluid will tell you if you have aluminum plates.

If I was riding it I wouldn't even need to see that gray oil. I would know from the clutch ajustment during the ride. My son rides it and even though I tell him how I don't think he really knows how to feather it. I taught him how there is another engine in there by revin it but I don't think he has unleashed the real power by beating the clutch to death. Bad clutch, bad clutch. Must die an early death and be replaced before the top end.

No development did not stop after the 01 model was released, a whole new engine was brought out in 2004 and I believe a new frame came out aswell between 2001 and 2004 (unsure of year) and then fine adjustments were made from then on up until development stopped in 2008.
